Here's our trip- 3 days Disney, 3 days Universal, kids 4,8,12
We are getting 2 connecting rooms at either Port Orleans Riverside or Pop Century. I called and had a postcard attatched to my name so I can get $79/night at POR or $55/night at Pop Century. Do you think the kids would enjoy one more than another? We usually stay DLX but we are trying this since we decided we would prefer 2 rooms.
Kids like- the POOL, games, playgrounds, fountains, lizards.

At Universal, we will stay at the Hard Rock Hotel in one room.

POR riverside! I have stayed at both and thoroughly loved all my visits at POR. POP does not have waterslides. The playground at POP is not that great either. If money is not a question go POR, it is such a relaxing resort with lots to do. They would probably love the piano man too.

My favorite is POR. We took 2 of the grands and their mom there last trip. This trip (we're there now) they asked if they could go to one of the Disney hotels instead. So here we are at POP. They love it!

POP! I showed kids the pictures of POR and they both said "YUCK!"

POR recently renovated the Mansions. They are right across from the Swimming Hole and you can go cane pole fishing. There's also a playground, and you can take the boat to Downtown Disney. You also have a choice between food court and sitdown restaurants. If you are used to Deluxe, I think you might be disappointed in POP. You have a great POR rate. Take advantage of it.

I think kids that age would much prefer POP, seems more "fun" looking. I actualy left it up to ds (7) to choose our hotel this trip. We will do most of them eventually, and he knew that looking through the brochure he could chose any including the deluxes and he went for Pop. He is also desperate to try CBR.

We have done both and prefer POR. DS (9) liked it better than POP because of the pool slide. The rooms are larger than POP. We found the bus service to be better as well. I do prefer the food court at POP as it has more of a selection. princess: pirate: :earboy2:

Thanks so much for your input. I think we are going for POR. The boat ride to DTD, the Old Man River, the landscaping and the fridge make me lean that way. However, in POP, we could have a King bed for mom and dad and the kids could share the double. That's my only swaying point besides the "fun" factor. We are trying to relax a bit more this trip- less parks, more taking it easy.
