I've stayed on site just twice, 5 nights at CBR std room in Martinique, 2A and 1C, really enjoyed our stay. I also did a solo weekend stay at Pop, enjoyed that too, but I have to admit I kept making some comparisons to CBR. We are doing the family 5 night trip again this year and with the new pool, hot tubs and renovated rooms I am really looking forward to a return there.
With 4 people for nearly 2 weeks, the fridge extra space, privacy curtain for a dressing area, pool amenities, bike rentals, etc. CBR will be a nice choice. There are water sports options available at the resort. Be sure to get the schedule for the kids pirate cruise, you might want to book this for your son/children. Send them on the cruise while you camp out in the hot tub, ahh. We did not book it, but I understand it can fill up so waiting 'til on site might be too late. I know you just made a big decision and here I go giving you something else to consider, sorry.
By the way, I didn't make a room request last time and probably won't this time and didn't for Pop. Call me low maintenance or someone who likes surprises. I picked a great resort, I figure we'll be fine wherever we land. If there is an issue I'm sure we'll get it resolved.
