Pop or ASMU?

Last time we went we were 4 people (my mom, my brother, DD and me) and staying at CBR. Now we're going back only DD (who will be 16) and me, and while we decided to go Value, I'm trying to choose between Pop and ASMU.

I've read Pop has a better food court (and when I looked at the menus there's indeed a larger selection), but I've also read on the Pop FAQ Topic that some people are as not satisfied as before.

ASMU would be slightly cheaper (but that's not a big deal at this rate), and I've seen mentioned it can be less crowded and more quiet.

Which one do you recommend?

Thanks

Pop has better buses, too, and many good Standard locations that are fairly close to the bus.

Depending on your dates, the All-Stars are the first hotels used for large groups.

Having stayed at both, I would recommend Pop. It's very peaceful by the lake. :goodvibes Plus you can quickly cross the bridge on the lake and enjoy the food court at AofA. The Music resort was good too, but I would definitely spring for a preferred room at Music due to the layout of the resort.

We did Pop last year on one of our trips and immediately asked to be moved. It is looking very run down inside the rooms and the cleanliness was suffering when we were there. I would suggest (and I am surprising myself by doing so) going with the Allstars resorts.

JoWilly > you're not the only one saying that. Do you remember which building you were at?

Thank you all!

I know they put us in the 70's and the first evening after we got back from the parks we called management and were moved to POR. The room was disgusting.

Pop. AsMu was not my favorite place

We're staying at music, it's got easy access too both Sports and Movies so you can use 6 pools and 3 food courts with a short cut thru walk.

Definitely go with Pop. If you stay at any of the All-Stars, you have to share a bus with the three resorts where Pop has just theirs. It is much better in my opinion.

It's very rare that they share. They only share during the slow parts of the day. During a total of 35 nights across all 3 All Stars we were on a shared bus 3 times. All three times were in the middle of the day with maybe 6 other people on the bus.

OP we have thoroughly enjoyed all our stays at Music. It's a nice value.

Stayed at Pop in February and it's my least favourite resort so far. I would go back to All-Star Movies but not Pop. We were staying the the 70s (Mickey phone building) and were close to the lake. The food court was really average and I really don't like the look of the resort.

Tough choice. I want to say Music, as it is much smaller than the Pop, and I liked the food court at the Music better. But the CMs at the Pop were very nice! Probably the nicest group I have found at all of the Disney resorts. Honestly, I would go with whichever one looks more appealing to you. Neither is a bad choice.

I won't be going back to a value resort again for one single reason: bus lines leaving the parks. We only stay at moderate and up since our stay at pop. When kids are exhausted and you're just ready to leave those short lines are definitely worth paying for at the higher priced resorts! Pop was pretty ok but definitely needs some updates.

I'm guessing you didn't stay at POR? Because during my last trip, that resort had some huge lines! I even said to my nephew, as much as I love POR I'm glad we are not staying there!

No we didn't. I think that one is just super popular for some reason. Maybe it's the beignets! ;)
