We will be going in Sept with the free DDP plan. My in-laws will be coming with as, as will my BIL. My in-laws will be on our flight, but my BIL will be arriving late that night. Will it be a problem with him not being there when we check in?

I remember seeing a bunch of threads last year about not being able to check in unless your whole party was there, but I didn't pay attention to them because it didn't pertain to us.

In June, 2006, my husband, my son and myself drove to WDW. Our daughter was a camp counselor at church camp and didn't fly in until 2 days after we drove in. She was signed up for Magical Express so Disney knew exactly when she was arriving.

When we checked in, I was able to get her park passes and her Hoop Dee Doo Review tickets.

My family NEVER goes to the check-in window with me so I don't see how Disney knows who is there and who is not. I would think that would be the case in your situation too.

We've been for free dining the last 2 years and are going again this year. My DD and BF have driven down later in the day (after class) and I've always been able to check in without them. I don't think it will be a problem.

I agree...I can't see how they would possibly know if everyone is there or not. Usually only one member tends to check in. I think you will be fine.

I agree with the others. The only problem you MIGHT have is if for some reason you booked under his name and never gave your own? I don't even know if that's possible.

In December, I checked in and DH, DD were in the car.

I have gone with a group the past couple of free dining years and we come from all over and arrive at different times. So far it hasnt been a problem checking in 1 at at time.

I'm sure you'll be fine.

We have done the free dining at Pop for the last two years. Both times, the ressie was in my friend Shirley's name. She and her husband arrived two days before me. No problems at all, they had my Key To The World, phoned me with the room number and I never even stopped at the front desk. We're doing the same this this fall.

In February, we went for a long weekend to celebrate my birthday. This time the ressie was in my name because we had used my AP to get a discount. Shirley arrived in the morning and I came in later in the day. When I made the ressie, I was told to stop at check in so that they could verify my AP. I did, and the CM at the desk wasn't even slightly interested in seeing my AP.

In all the trips I have taken, I can't remember a single time when more than one person in our party stood in line to check in. Can you imagine how long the line would be if entire parties queued up?
