Pop Century?

Okay I've been off the Dis for awhile so I was wondering is the Pop Century open now or is it opening sometime?Thanks

Sorry to say but it is not opened yet and no scheduled date for same has been posted. One post a few weeks ago stated that in order for the resort to open they would have to hire between 1-2,000 people to run the resort and Disney has a hiring freeze on at this time due to low attendance.

One of the rumors some time back was the CM's were chosen, ready and set to go. So that may have been just that -- a mere rumor.
At this point I would say it's anyone's guess when PC opens, but I wouldn't hold my breath, as we all read nothing but how attendance is down and cutbacks.

To some of us, it will be the monument to Disney's management and decisions in the past few years...

We saw the resort from the road. It is not finished. We saw at least 2 large buildings that are just brown stucco looking things with nothing on them. The decorated ones we could see from the road looked a bit....mmmm......mmm....tacky. Words like Duh, wasssup all over them - I understand the concept of Pop Culture and all - just didn't like it on the couple of buildings I could see.

Workers at the park that we talked to said crowds seemed good to them. They said they had not noticed a huge downturn that upper management seems to. For the first time, we heard castmembers talking down about management. Some we talked to seemed to think that mgmt just wanted to make things seem worse because other divisions are losing money or just wanted to try to get by with fewer people - fewer costs.

We did notice the parks seemed a bit dirtier than other visits. We saw workers painting during the day and working on rides. However, we never saw any grounds crew working on the flower beds and such except at the Poly.
