Hi there,

We'll be staying there in August. I've subscribed to the "Grooviest Pop Centry Thread" on this board, just look through the threads it's always current, which has tons of info from previous guests and you learn alot from it.

Have a great trip.

Been there twice and had a great time both trips. We stayed in the same room both times with a lake view on the 3rd floor of the 50s building. Nice and quiet. Any other questions check out the thread recommended above. Or ask away!

I also stayed there twice. It's a nice resort with good transportation and a good food court.

If you're looking for nice and quiet - POP definitely isn't the place to stay. It's the largest of the values and is always packed to the rafters. DH & I went for our 2nd time in September of last year to celebrate our anniversary and had the most "unmagical" time we've ever had staying on site. Yes, the food court and shopping are great. And we had no complaints with the transportation either, but................it was not the least bit quiet. There were way too many uncontrolled, rude and unsupervised kids of all ages running all over the resort, especially after 10pm at night running up & down the halls. We had people next door to us too lazy to use their key card so they flipped their lock out & proceeded for more than an hour to slam the door open and closed and that was after 11pm. We paid for a preferred room, but it was about as far away from elevator, food court and pools - with an absolute view of nothing. We did discuss our issues with WDW and got a great call from WDW CRO, but DH & I decided we would not go back there again. But that's just our opinion.

That being said - since we wanted something a bit smaller and alot quieter, this January we stayed at ASMu for a mini-vacation and it was great!! No issues with the buses or anything. We only shared 1x was another AS resort. Food court was great and shopping had just enough of everything we were looking for. Our room was great - ASMu has just been refurnished and it was so new and clean. Loved the curtain separating the sink area from the rest of the room. That was a great touch. We chose a standard room there & it was in a much better location than our preferred room was at POP. Would definitely recommend anyone wanting a quieter resort to try out ASMu!!

Enjoy your vacation.......................:goodvibes

My daughter and I have stayed at Pop Century 3 times and are going back 03/31 - 04/07. We've stayed at all the Value Resorts but we like Pop the best. The foot court is great to have and the resort isn't all spread out (which is nice when you're rushing to take the bus in the morning or are exhausted after a long day at the parks). Take time to read through the Pop thread as there is a ton of information in there. Enjoy your trip!

We've stayed at the POP the last three years running and LOVE it. The noise issues that everyone complains about? Never heard them. Of course, we've never stayed on the poolside of the building either.

The three pools are all beautiful, clean and heated. My favorite is the bowling pin pool over in the 50's section. It is the quietest by far. The Hippy Dippy seems to get the most votes from our kids. Goofy's Pop Jet Area is the coolest. Nothing like watching a toddler play with the spouting jets.

No building is too far from the Classic Hall. The buses aren't shared so there are no additional stops. One issue at the four major parks is that the POP bus stop always seems to be the farthest from the park entrance.

The rooms are always clean, the staff friendly and the Classic Hall is well stocked.

We've stayed at Pop twice. The first time, we had a room in the 80's and the resort was full but our room was very quiet. We didn't hear anything but the infamous turbo toilets that WDW is known for. The second time, we stayed in the 50's, building 3 (Tramp building), on the back side facing the lake, first floor, second room from the end. It was a great location! Close to everything, but still quiet.

stayed at pop 5 times - soon to be 6.

50's lakeside view - or anything lake view - would be much quieter than the pool views.

lakeviews are standard not preferred - pool views are preferred.

you can see the fireworks from some of the 50's building. (just not tramp - or I haven't)

Now breakfast is not a good situation. Everyone is trying to eat breakfast and go to the parks. So it can be a mad house. suggest you go to the parks then eat breakfast - or have something in your room.

We stay at pop 3 times and loved it..can't wait to go back...We never had noise problem...dnn't stay on pool side. Now at Music, tons of kids for bands.
I hope you had a wonderful trip!

Hi
I've been at Pop 5 times and think it's a really fun place. I usually request 70's since I feel it's a little closer to the busses and food court. I liked the 50's also. The best thing about the staying in the 70's last year was returning to Pop from the parks and everyone getting wet in the Goofy Jets on our way back to the room. It was so hot. The food court has a lot of variety and I think the food that we got was pretty good. Also, there is a bar inside and a bar by the pool. Have a great time!!!

All the above posts are correct. The Pool side will be louder then a non pool side room. DW, DS, DD and I have stayed at POP 7 times soon to be 8 this coming monday. Yes it's loud. Yes, there are a lot of children. Yes, they run around alot. But remember this is disney, you have to expect some of this. And remember most people while at disney go to bed late and wake up early.

We love POP, it's newer, the food is great, two nice little bars, one out by the pool which is open late. The buses are not bad either. Be perpared, it is a big resort.

My advice is just go and have fun. Roll with the punches, and you will have a great time.

Scott.

My DBF and I stayed at Pop in December. It was our first trip to WDW together and we had a great time!

The only thing I would do differently was make sure to get a queen size bed. We had two double beds and although they were fine, we could have used a queen bed. Since I have asthma, we requested the room have that special cleaning, so I didn't want to try to change rooms for a bigger bed...plus we had a good location - the 50's section!

Have a great trip! :)

that also helps me out too. we are staying in August so thanks everyone but i have been looking aroud Disney sites looks AWESOME!!!!!!

I loved POP too! And we're booked there for later this year! As for the noise, sometimes I think it's all in where you're coming from. We live in the city, I hear lots of noise outside my house, even during the night. Sometimes I get awoken, but not always. At WDW, I don't hear the turbo toilets, nor do I hear people noise. Whether that's from my usual-ness of hearing city noise or from the exhaustion of walking around all day I don't know! But it has never bothered me. And I love the breakfast pizza at POP! I'm drooling now thinking about it! :goodvibes

Hi I just wanted to ask you where the grooviest pop century theard is ?

At the top of the Disney Resorts page there is a sticky that reads Resort FAQ and Information Threads -- click on that and it will give you a list of all the resort threads. The newest Pop century one is called The Grooviest New Pop Century FAQ Thread. Enjoy! It's lots of fun to read. There is also a link to the pictures thread which is also great!
