I can understand that, because they wouldn't necessarily know if your mug is new or old. They could ask for a receipt, to dee the date of purchase, but I would not be able to find my receipt.

This is why I am surprised that nothing was said so close to the transition date. They could have told me to be sure to save my receipt because in a few days the mug I was buying would be obsolete, but that with my receipt I would be able to exchange it.

Perhaps there will be an overlap period. I would love to hear from anyone there currently to see how it's handled.

Who am I kidding? I wound love to be there still, myself, rather than riding home in the car. I would be glad to investigate new mugs if I could just stay longer!

My guess is one the new mugs will have been for sale for 14 days they will activate the machines, since the longest they are good for is 14 days.

Hi all,

I'll be at Pop from December 28th - January 18th. We'll be heading over to Discovery Cove early on in the trip while it is still crazy busy at the parks. We won't have a car with us so are planning to take a taxi.

Does Pop have taxis outside the resort first thing in the morning or do you need to call and book one?

Thanks! I've never stayed at Pop before (this is only my second trip, last time I stayed at All Star Music) so I am SUPER excited.

Just arrived at pop. It is 5:00pm and heading to DTD. :cool1: New mugs are for sale by old mugs still being used. Makes sence if they get new mugs out and old mugs gone then activate the system. No fridge in my room building 6. Did ask about the $15 credit and they opted to give me one of the medical fridges. Guess enough people are leaving they can offer them to those who ask for a fridge now.

Got the notification on disney.com today that our magic bands will be delivered to the front desk for when we check in on Friday!

Is this because you don't reside in the US?

We booked last Tuesday. My friend who works at CSR said they are testing all different options and scenarios. I booked a room at Yacht the same day for the night after POP and we got our MB on Thursday so I'm not sure what the hold-up was for POP but we'll see if they arrive.
I live in the Orlando area so it's funny they can't just ship to my apt. 20 mins from POP!

Does the medical fridge have a freezer?

I bought two mugs at ASSp on Friday, 8/2. I talked to a food manager about switching to RFID, when the food court was scheduled to go down on 8/5. He told me to hold onto my receipt. Unfortunately, we switched resorts on Saturday, 8/3, so I can't really tell you how things would have been handled.

Magic bands set, fastpass+ selections made, only 30 days to go. Super pumped!

Hey we are also going in about a month. Sept.26-Oct.6. Starting to forward to the trip.

I will be there around the same time. Checking in on 9/27 and staying until 10/3. I am so excited for this trip. I am about to start packing most of DD's clothes as I want to be sure they all stay clean before we go without having to do a last minute load of laundry.

Are either of yall going to MNSSHP? We will be going to the one on the 29th.

Little info on the food court from looking last night.

I arrived yesterday and went to the food court last night to get some supplies for the week for my room since they were nice enough to get me a fridge when I asked. So I always buy milk and water for the room. I am disappointed to find they no longer sell the 1 liter bottles of water and the only milk I found was the the small kids cartons or the big 1/2 gallons. They did have whole, strawberry and chocolate in what I call adult size but nothing else and I wanted to get a milk in the adult size just not whole. I ended up getting the 1/2 gallon to save a little money for the week of milk but hopefully they have more of a selection in the morning for everyone else for breakfast.

The soda machines have been switched to the new ones but since people still have some of the older mugs they aren't switched on yet. Once people vacationing with the old mugs leave they no doubt will turn them on. I did find anouther problem that could happen when filling your RFID mug to cause problems. When I was filling my mug the sprayer that gives the soda was spraying wrong like sideways for some reason but filed my mug a quarter of the way. But since it was covered in soda had to go dump it to clean the sticky soda off the mug. That would have registered as me using that much in a fill and thus would not let me get a full fill when I wen to a different properly working side to fill. So then it would involve getting a CM and telling them what happen so you can get your soda fixed taking more time from the day and just an over all headache for what should have been a quick soda fill and go. CM are going to have to do regular checks on the operations of the soda machines to keep things running smoothly.

If they are using the ones they previously used (and I would assume they are) then YES they do have a small freezer section. They are like a dorm style fridge.

I am at Pop now and they gave me one of the medical fridges to use. It looks brand new and no it does not have a freezer. I dont know if the older models do or not. It does have slots for baby bottles which I think is great for bottle feeding. I have a 1/2 gallon of milk, 20oz bottle water, and put the ice container in it with plenty of room still.

That's a bummer. :( the old style medical fridges did have an actual freezer section. I often use gel packs for "me", not for meds and ice doesn't work as well.... the gel packs just don't get as cold in a fridge section.

That's the same fridge they had installed last year into all the rooms, no freezer in them.

Have we gotten confirmation on a rehab in the 70s section? Was Pop even due for one? :confused3 We are checking in this weekend and that was my ONLY request.

Could anyone who is currently there could walk in that direction and see if it looks like that section is unoccupied? (I am having a hard time believing that they would take an entire section down at a time (a floor, or even 1 building maybe, but not the whole section.)

Thanks!!

I can't imagine you'd be able to tell by having someone walk by those rooms- the exterior isn't being reconstructed or anything. The woman at Pop I talked to said they were not booking people in that section because they would be painting, and re-doing the interior. They were starting sometime this week and rooms would be available again on or after 9/2. Now this is a lady who said she was in the back office at the Pop. So according to another manager when I called back to re-confirm what she said, had no idea about that area of Pop being under a slight "Refurb", he said she would know better b/c she's in the back office/operations. You might want to call and get a supervisor too and ask them that question. I was very upset to hear all the rooms were not available when we checked in. From what she said, I could switch to a 70's room during our stay once it became available but DH doesn't want to do that.

I just didn't think the POP rooms were up for a refurb yet (its barely 3 years on the current version. There are deluxe hotels that are going on 5-7 years without a change.) I know they were painting the big icons outside the buildings, but nothing inside has been reported that I have seen. Perhaps she is confused with that?
(I am not doubting you :flower3: but I am doubting her ;))
