I tried to add a night to our reservation from September 15-21st. I was shocked to find that Friday, September 14th was sold out. I called twice with the same results. We were able to squeeze a night in through Travelocity, but does this mean the resort will be incredibly crammed?
We are arriving on Friday around 11:00 pm. I was hoping we could get a room in the 50s 60s or 70s and keep the same room when our WDW travel reservations started on Saturday, but arriving so late at a sold out resort, I'm afraid that we certainly won't get our request, and that it will be so crammed it is unenjoyable.

I was hoping maye the cast member just meant there were no free dining rooms left, but she said there were no rooms available. I thought September was slow?

We will be there the first week of September. I have been told that it is a slow time, even with free dining. Personally, I don't believe it. We were shocked by the crowds at WDW last January (not the holidays, later in the month.) I think with free dining and also the fact that there haven't been any hurricanes in a few years crowds will be pretty thick. I am not looking forward to them or the heat!!

I think sold out resorts is a good indication of CROWDS!! I know many keep posting on its a slow time - but that may be relative, slow compared to holiday times maybe, but last week of Sept was crowded - managable thru great planning - but crowded to me!!

Kids have just gone back to school by September and that is why free dining works so well to fill the Disney resorts. Try calling any off-site hotel and you will find availability. So, the resorts might be full, but the parks will not. There aren't a lot of people who will pull kids out of school when they have just gone back after summer break.

We always travel during the off-season (2 times a year) and go when there is free-dining or super low room rates and bump-ups for park hoppers, etc. The crowds are never bad in the parks and lines are almost non-existant.

Looking forward to our trip next month. CSR...here we come!

We will be there Sept 22nd and hopefully the full rooms are parents with pre-schoolers. We are homeschoolers so I thought this would be the best time to go. I HOPE I AM NOT WRONG!!!! If it is little kids then they will be filling up the kiddy lands so leaving the big rides for the big kids like me (I am 33 years old) and my family.

POP here we come!!!!!!

LOL! I will be there with my 4 year old son and he LOVES the big kid rides. He is finally tall enough for Splash Mountain & BTMRR and can't wait. He's not too into the kiddie rides (probably because he's the youngest of four).:thumbsup2

This is our 3rd year in a row going in Sept. The restaurants are busy but the parks aren't;) Never had more then a 10 minute wait.. and that was rare.

See you in September :yay:

Hi Kelli!!

Look out for you-know-who!!! And I so hope you're right about the crowds. This is why I brave Sept heat & hurricane's - LESS PEOPLE!!!

See you in September, see you when the summer's through:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

My family will be at Disney September 15 - 23 and we too are staying at Pop Century. This is our first trip and we are definitely SUPER EXCITED!!! I heard that we are going during the "slow time of year" BUT we're from a small town I there are three families going from here so I'm guessing it's never slow in Mickey land!!!

We were there mid-September last year. The waits for Winnie the Pooh and Peter Pan were 45+ minutes, but Space Mountain was practically walk-on.

on my past three trips in dec the resorts have been sold out.during value season disney does what ever it has to do to fill the room example free dininng, passholder discounts,i even got a code in the mail for $59 a night for a value this sept. In my experance full resorts do not mean full parks. disney resorts make up a small portion of the parks capacity. so don't sweat it folks it's gonna be a smooth ride this sept:goodvibes

This will be our 3rd September trip we are going 13-23 staying at POP. The last two years have been great as far as no crowds. I hope it is not crowded this year also. I have a 7 & 9 yr old. We attend year rounds schools and they are on their break in September.

to my Sept Free DDP package on Tues. Was kicking myself for not doing it originally, but changing the flight was going to be expensive. Dear sweet, SWA put out another special and I jumped on it! At first, I could only get a room-only for 9/27 but, 2 calls and 2 conversations with Guest Services and the extra day was added to my package!!
