My SIL and BIL are staying there for 4 nights in the end of Jan. and we have been trying to find out what they have available in the shopping area as far as food goes? They will have a fridge in their room, they are wondering what will be available for them to buy as far as things like milk, eggs? , cold/fresh foods, anything....do they have anything more than drinks and the packaged dry goods on the shelves? I am sure they have bread, cereal, snacks, things like that- but what else? If you don't know WHAT they have, is there a phone # they could call to find out?
We would get the info for them when we go there, but we'll be at AKL, not in the pop century area, so I don't know if it will be different at the different resorts?

I'll try to help. If I'm remembering correctly (from a year ago), it's more of a grab-and-go with individual servings of most items. I know they had small cartons of milks, maybe as large as a quart but nothing bigger than that. You may find hard boiled eggs but not raw ones (no where to cook them, anyway). There are individual servings of cold cereal (over $2 each). You can buy bread by the slice and put it in the toaster at the food court, but not loaves of bread. I do remember that they had full size bags of chips and jars of salsa. You can get fruit cups and veggie sticks with dip but that's about it for fresh produce.

If you want to eat breakfast in your room each day, it's probably better to either stop at a store on the way from the airport (if you have a car) or have some groceries delivered to the room (many people have had good luck with gardengrocer.com). The items you'll find at Pop are pretty expensive and the selection is very limited. We were on the Dining Plan and ended up just eating breakfast at the Pop Food Court most mornings. We kept very little food in our room since we were gone so much of the time. If we had smaller kids, we might have needed to keep more snacks available. Hope that helps.

If you are going to be there before them and really want to get up-to-date information, I would suggest you taking a quick trip over to Pop Century yourself. You would just need to bus over to Animal Kingdom (quick trip from the Lodge) and then take a bus to Pop Century and then reverse. Or, go to the Studios and then over to Pop Century (which is closer to the Studios). You can do this during your park day at either one of these parks. Then you would know for sure.

Eggs? What in heavens name are they going to do with eggs at POP?
Anyway...if groceries are a concern, I would suggest having a grocery delivery service. You can choose whatever you want, you will pay a delivery fee (usually around $10 or so) and they will deliver it right to your resort. It's a bit more expensive than shopping yourself, but if you don't have a car it's worth it.
I've used....www.netgrocer.com (but they don't do fresh, dairy), www.wegoshop.com (liked them very much).
