I used to live in Orlando 11 years ago and it is my 1st trip back since. A lot has changed! I am going there with my wife (we just got married in June). I am 29 she is 27. We already have reservations at POP, but I was wondering if we will have a good time there even though we don't have any kids?

Is POP just a resort to take your kids to? We could get a room at the Coronado for $40 more per night. Is the difference in cost worth it? Should we just stay at POP?

We are going On December 17th. Please let me know. Thanks!

Oh I forgot to tell you all that we are staying for 6 nights so the difference is cost would be $240. Would you save the money and stay at POP or would you spend the extra $240 for Coronado?

I think a lot depends on what you want out of your room and/or resort. For me, all I need or want out of my room is a clean place to sleep, shower, etc. in between visiting the parks and so I don't spend extra for a better room. POP is a Value resort, so rooms, pools, gift shop, arcade, food court and not a lot more, though DD and I do enjoy the theming. As a Value, it appeals to a lot of families, so the pools are filled with kids - but whether that's different from any other resort, I don't know. Like anywhere else, noise levels depend a lot on where your room is and who is staying nearby.......

Are you looking for anything specific from Coronado that might be worth the $240 to you?

Not really! I just always try to look for the best deal out there. We got a preferred room at POP for $71 per night and I can get Coronado for $107.50 per night. We probably won't be in our room too darn much. We also are renting a car so transportation will not be a problem.

Which one has the better location? Can you walk to park or other stuff from these resorts? Is Coronado a big step up as far as it being way nicer and offering much more. Are the rooms much nicer? Is Coronado much quiter? I am confused! hahaha..

My wife and I (28 and 26) stayed at POP last year, and all I can say is ask for a room not near the pool. I don't know if they have an official curfew for the pool or not, but there were kids screaming out there well after midnight a few times. Other than that, We liked it just fine.

DH and I have stayed 3x at Pop without our kids. We enjoy the resort a lot, and we've never had our request for 50's granted! The one difference I can think of at CSR that would make a difference for me is the hot tub, but not $240 worth.

Being in the same age bracket and having stayed at the both resorts I understand your dilema. I enjoy the moderate if you are staying longer at DW. If you just go for a weekend I would say it doesn't matter, but if you are staying for 6 days and you can afford the extra money I would defienlty recommend you stay at a moderate. Since you will have a larger room, more food choices, and just a nicer overall resort. However, I stayed at Coronado as was not that impressed. Unless you think you will use the pool or the lake activites, I defienlty suggest POFQ. My wife and I found it much more romanitc, plus you have the boat that takes you to DTD, which is definelty an added bonus for a romantic night out. Whatever you decide have fun.

We love CSR because it is truely a beautiful resort, has a great main pool are (the best of the mods) and terrific transportation along with 2 great places to eat.

CSR does not share transportation with other resorts and though it is a large resort, it only has 4 bus stops. It also offers its guests an internal shuttle system if you do not want to walk.

Check out my CSR website below for pics, links and info.

As a young married couple with no kids..... I would say go for CSR!
Like Buzz said...... CSR, Hands down!
CSR is my favorite too! We've been there 4 times and I just love to walk around the resort.... especially at sunrise! :goodvibes
And with it being Dec..... not sure how late the parks are open.... but I am sure they aren't open real late, so you will have time to really enjoy the resort.
Just look at Buzz's pictures! How can you resist that! :teeth:

And.... my favorite section is Casitas!!!

I appreciate all you help! I still haven't made my final decision, but your thoughts have really helped me out. I don't plan on being in the room too much, so I have a feeling that we will stay at the POP since it is cheaper. Thanks!

If you still have more opinions on it, please let me know.

We loved CSR, a walk around the lake at night is beautiful. Have you checked to see if they have rooms available. I hate to see you decide to switch only to find out there's "no room at the inn".

You could split your stay and start at CSR and enjoy the romantic walks around the beautiful resort and then switch to the POP. If you find you really like the CSR you could ask if you could just stay there and pay the difference.

Out of the two you are thinking about, we have only stayed at the Pop but we go to CSR to eat at Pepper Market and then just savor the scenery in an after dinner walk around the area.

If you really plan on spending very little time at your resort, just stay at Pop but if you want some nice quiet time at a resort CSR looks like a great choice.

Or do a bit of both! :cool1:

I have stayed at both. I enjoyed both, but would choose CSR for the quietness and romance.

CSR is way nicer, and they have hammocks. we love to lay out at night, lookin' at the stars. It's worth the extra money, but I agree Twende you can split your stay. We've done it a few times, no problem, however I would start at Pop. It's a let down to go from mod. to value. You will be dispointed with the rest of your stay. We've done it that way. I have no problem staying at a value, but that was one time I did.

They have rooms available for $107.50 per night. I have triple checked it.

As we speak, the rates just went up to $119.20 per night. We will probably just stay at the POP afterall.
