I am trying to decide between these two resorts. I was planning to stay at a value resort for my trip next spring, and there is not much of a price difference between these two resorts for my dates. I have never stayed at CBR, but I know they are currently doing major refurbishments. Which one would you choose?

Do you plan to use the pools, so would slides or hot tubs make a difference?

Do you tend to dine or enjoy other food/drink amenities at your resort?

CBR will have the extra pool amenities and all new dining experiences by spring ...
but it will continue to sit in the shadow of the tower construction and gondola construction.

Both have queen beds so unless you are looking for more square footage rooms
I see no advantage of one room over the other.

CBR has a much larger footprint and I for sure would not book a CBR Pirate room.

I think it also gets to what theme appeals to you.

No. Spending all our time in the parks. Just need a place to rest our heads. Bus service is important.

Then save the money and use it elsewhere.

You can't depend on bus service anywhere, but I prefer POP setup because there is one stop, load in order.

Great. Thanks for the advice! The total price difference was less than $100, so I didn’t know if we should go for a moderate.

I was coming to ask the same question. Also never stayed at CBR but think I will stick with Pop because I'm worried about lugging 2 toddlers around and the bus situation seemed confusing.

It's really not. If you're staying in Jamaica, for example, you walk to the Jamaica bus stop and get on the bus going to where you want. All the buses have their destination on the front and sides. Every Village has its own bus stop so you never have more than a 2 minute walk to get to one.

How many days is your trip? In 2016 we stayed at CBR for 10 nights. Total cost was only $100 more than staying at POP. It was a no brainer to pay the $10 a night more! For our 2018 9 night trip it would cost us $700 more for CBR as Disney removed the discounts we had before.

CBR was great. We stayed in Jamaica which was a short walk to buses and an easy walk across the bridge to dining etc. Jamaica was usually the 1st stop when returning on buses from the parks late at night.

If you are only staying a couple nights then $100 may be too much, if longer then it can easily be worth it. The construction looks to not affect the Jamaica or Aruba sections.

Thanks. I'm assuming each bus, then makes stops to each village before heading to the parks?

With the tower construction one bus for each destination stops at Jamaica and Aruba. Another bus for each destination stops at the others.

I've heard they do. However, when we stayed at Jamaica we'd get on the bus and it sometimes stopped at Aruba and other times it did not. Either way we headed to the parks without any other stops. So I figured Jamaica must be last or next to last stop but every day the bus only had a few people on it early in the morning when heading to parks. I enjoyed the buses there far more than at POP although POP was rarely bad.
