Does anyone know if Pop will provide an egg crate mattress pad if requested? My friend is coming down for my wedding and will be staying at Pop, but she is paralyzed and will need one to prevent bed sores while she is there. I thought the hotel might have some available and that would save us having to bring one with us.

Thanks!

You may have to ask the resort that question.... I honestly can't tell you.... Or see if there's a way to "rent" one from a local medical supply place....

I totally doubt they have any on hand and I don't believe they will, unless your friend makes the request before arrival. Your best bet is for your friend to bring her own, and stave off any disappointment later.

I highly recommend calling Disney first and ask.

Ask this over on the Disabilities Board, the people there should be able to answer that question for you. I highly doubt that is something Disney would have, maily because of sanitary reasons, but I could be mistaken. I would also suggest you call the Disability Special Services office they can answer a question like that. I think the phone number is 407-824-4321, if that is not right, they will give it to you if you call 407-W-DISNEY. They can also send you brochures for help through her whole stay.

Suzanne princess:

If disney can not provide how about going to walmart on way to disney and gettin the mattress pad?

Egg crate mattresses are single user only. They are not rentable. If Disney has any, it would probably be a purchase. These are not readily avail at stores either in our town at least. I work in a hospital and they usually have to be ordered from a medical supply company.

Thanks everyone. I'm going to call the resort just to make sure and if they don't have any then I'll just pick one up at Target. They have them there for about $15.

I didn't think the resorts provided them either for the sanitary reasons mentioned above. I was quite surprised to have requested an extra mattress for the pull out bed at AKLodge as the regular mattress was thin and uncomfortable....and was given an eggcrate mattress. Of course they put it on the wrong bed, but the point is that they did have one. I didn't examine it closely to see if it appeared new/used. I'd call the resort directly to get a firm answer.---Kathy

you could also buy one at home and ship it to the resort ahead of time - egg crate mattress pads are so light you can ship it...

also, no one here has rented from them, but your friend may want to check out

they rent trapeze, which may make getting in and out of bed earlier - i dunno what she uses daily, but it may make her happier to have that little bit of extra independence of getting out of bed by herself...

She doesn't really have much independent function, so her aides use a hoyer lift daily. I've never seen that site before, so thanks for the info!

i cant give any reviews, since no one here has ever retned from them, so i suggest proceeding with caution, but they are worth a shot
