I have stated here before but can not remember what area is the best room location. Want to be by the restaurant and happy to pay for preferred location. Any suggestions, I think the 50's was sought after.

60's is considered the best as it's directly across from the main building and by the main pool....you pay for preferred rooms in the 60s

but personally, i much prefer the 70's....no pool, so no pool noise and fairly close to the main building...

we always request the 70's...

Thanks very helpful.
Do you pay more for the 70's or just request it? do not want a long walk to get a drink in the morning and when we get off the bus after a long day!

i think they have both preferred and standard rooms in the 70s..

we just get a standard room..

if you take preferred, then you'll be in the closer section of the 70's..

but if you want to be sure you're close, ask for preferred and then you'll be put somewhere close (be it 50's, 60's or 70's - all 3 have preferred areas).

Another good place to ask is the POP thread. The people there are all very helpful and that way you get all different reasons why people like different parts! I stayed in the 50's on the lake side because I wanted it to be quiet. I was really worried about staying at POP at first but we loved it! Hope you will too! Here is the link for that thread!

We requested a 4th floor, lake view room in building 6 ("mickey mouse phone" building in the 70s).
It's a perfect location for us - quiet as no one above you, you're not overlooking a courtyard, car park or pool, not too far from the amenities at all and it didn't cost extra because not a preferred location.

I personally think a pool-view 60s room would be a nightmare - seemed like it would be very noisy!

i think we were also in the mickey phone building, on the top floor, but on the courtyard side...
we loved our location...it was very quiet and very close to the main building..

Hi we love the 60's building , we have been on the top floor both times that we have stayed at Pop. And have had no troubles with noise at all and I am in bed most nights before all the kids out there . We still get up first thing in the morn. and we have never had a prob. with the pools .. Both times we have been near the bridge over looking AMA this is a great spot for seeing illuminations ... :hippie: :cool1: popcorn::

60's preffered pool view will get you close to food court and pool and it is not noisey at night. they only resort we have stayed in that has manintence /security walking around ALL night so is quite there..we are all adults and has never kept us awake.. they only have three floors and have stayed on #3 as well but have elavators

I like 80s cause it's quieter than right by the main building but you can cut across the carpark to the busses. :)

My fave building so far is the 50s. We stayed behind the Lady statue with a pool view. That pool was never as busy as the 60s pool so it wasn't noisy and the walk to the food court wasn't all that bad either.

I love the 50s.
Bowling pin pool is great and so quiet when compared to the hippie dippie.
And I love the colors
Last time we were in builing 2, we liked that location a lot.

The only part of 50s I'd like to avoid is between the statues (lady/tramp) and the food court.
Those are facing the "machine room" for the pool, and it gets noisy.
Also, some are too close to the smoking area.
