We just returned today from a 4 night stay at the Pop Century. We were located in the 80's building facing the parking lot. Our room was available early and we were able to check in early. We had a great location to the bus transporation. Very clean. My only complaint was that there was never any ice in the ice machines in the restaurant.
A tip I wish I knew was if you have stayed at the POP before and purchased the refill cup you are still able to use them. I did not know that the cups do not expire. We know next time to bring them with us!! Can't wait to go back to DISNEY!!

I didn't know that the mugs didn't expire either. Welcome home and we can't wait to hear the details.

What did the mugs look like? Where they the psychadelic looking ones or were they the Year of a million dreams ones? Thanks!!

The mugs DO EXPIRE! They are for the length of your stay only!
Glad you had a good trip, we fly out tomarrow!

We were told the mugs expire at checkout. We did transfer from POP to ASSp for 1 night, we did use them at ASSp. This was the first time we have purchased the mugs. I couldnt believe the number of people filling up water bottles, other cups & coolers at the pop machines. I never heard a cast member address the issue, and they saw it happening too.
Our cups were the YOMD 2007 cups.

The CM checking us out in the food court line last week told the gentlemen in front of us "it's good for life" when he questioned about it. I just laughed to myself. Every CM has their own rules.

I've seen it all too. I saw one family checking in with 4 (some different and no YOMD) mugs strapped to their luggage. The system is a joke.

I will bring my cup from 3 years ago. It would not hurt to ask if we can use them. We will be at POP Sept 22nd-29th.

Even if you can't use them for refills, you can use them for water in the room or you can store your change in them or your watches, etc. I take a box lid for this, but a mug would work (and be more festive)!

the mugs had changed from last year to this year, are they not the YOAMD design?

Close to our dates at POP Sept. 21-30.:thumbsup2 See you there.
We have stayed at POR may times since 1995 and I have 3 different mugs from there. Last year we stayed at ASMu but decided to go to POR for breakfast. I started pointing out the mugs to my DW, I said there is a guy with one from 1995, there is 1 from around 1999 and there is somewone with one from 2001. I always felt foolish going up for a coffee with an outdated mug. But at home I use my coffee mugs every day for a coffee on my drive to work and also have a mug at work. 30 days till free dining, but I'll OPP the mug. 9 days of coffee for $11.99 not bad when all the food is free. :hippie: :cool1:

We were there 8/14-21 and also noticed that about the ice. We usually filled ours up at the ice machine by our room. They also ran out of iced tea every night, so we had to do the hot water & teabag, then get ice from the outside ice machine. What a hassle! We also noticed a lot of non-Disney cups being filled up at the food court, but nobody said anything. This was our first time with the refillable mugs, so I guess we'll see what happens next time.

When we were there in April 2006 the person that put us through the cash at the food court also told us that the mugs were good for all future stays at Disney. When we asked another CM I guess you call them, the next day, she also said the same thing.
