I recently booked Pop Century for $61.60 / night for November through AAA.com. I have read that the rate can drop to $55. Has anyone seen this recently? If so, who was the discount through?

Thanks.

The AP discount for the summer is $55/night...often in the fall value resorts go for $49/night with an AP discount, but no guarentee...it is just a wait and see game.

This discount only lasted until July 4 after that the discounted rate is $69 per night....

But last fall I did get a $49 room at POP...with an AP discount...so they do go that low...

Yes, you can for Fl. Residents in Nov. and Feb.!;)

Does that $61.60/night include tax? It's about the same as $55 + 11.5% tax, so it could very well be the $55 rate, just with tax included.

What about any other discounts? we will be going in October, for the first time in about 10 years!

The $49.00 rate with 11.5% tax is $54.64. That's the rate they're after!;)

Yes!

I logged into AAA.com with my AAA card number. I didn't even have to go to the office.

That was a great way to compare hotels.

bones I can't find out how to get room only quotes for on property ...how do you do it...??? on the aaa site

Go to http://www.aaa.com
I am logged in through my local office [Hartford, CT].
I can click on <hotel>
for destination, put <orlando, fl>
you can search by AAA diamond star rating and /or by price range and/or by hotel name.
I left the rating unchecked [since Pop Century was yet unrated because it is new], put in $50-$100 range, and that's how I 1st did my search.
Now if I want to check the price, I can do the same, but also add the "property name" <Pop Century>. It pulls it right up.

I would guess you are having problems since your office may not have as much to offer online as mine does. Be sure you are logged in with your AAA number.

Hope this helps.

Yeah it looks like the AAA midlantic website is set up differently...

Thanks for replying...I ended up getting an email quote instead...

I am also using midatlatic aaa. Here is how I found on-site rates.

log on to www.aaa.com
click on travel tab at the top
click on hotels
use check AAA rates in all cities
when the seach comes up type Orlando, FL in the city seach block
when the results come up, go to the ones that start with D

Hope this helps!!!
