I have never stayed at Pop and I'm not sure if I am paying too much.

I will be going on Friday 3/17 and then checking out on Sunday3/19 and transfering to OKW.

I just booked today and got a rate of $89 per night with my AP discount. Does that sound right??? Just wondering if I could get it any lower?

Sounds right because you are going in Peak Season. I doubt you will get any lower than the AP rate.

I booked under the old BRP AP program back in November before it was discontinue for POP Century checkin in March 11th. My rate is $89.20 a night and it hasn't gone down at all.

Ah yes...I forgot about that. I hope it's not crowded.

I still was hoping to try and get it a little less. But it's not goign to stop me from going.

We're going in May and I'm paying $124/night for a preferred location at Pop - am I paying too much? The CM said there were no AP or FL resident discounts in May and that's why it's more. Seems awfully high though considering in the past I've gotten a moderate for that price.

The AP rates for May are not released yet. Keep watching the boards for the release.. and believe me.. you will notice it! LOL!! Then call back and see if you can apply the AP rate to your reservation.

I plan on going again in May. I'm not sure when or if I will take the kids, I think I will surprise them if I do. I'll probably split my time with ASM and DVC.

you are going during spring break - it will be crowded.....

that say the parks are open longer at night....

anytime the MK is open past 9 pm it will be a busy day.

now the hotels won't be so back - but the parks will be.

Orange County (orlando) has off 3-13 to 3-17, then next week Osceola County (kissimmee) has off 3-20 to 3-24 - your first weekend is between these times - so expect crowds...

these are local crowds - so as I say the hotels hopefully won't be so busy....

Do you have AAA? You can call and ask for the AAA room rate, even if you don't have one. I think it is 15% off per night in peak season. That might save enough to buy the card.

I just booked for May 3-7 and got POP at $84 a night with AAA, non preferred. Waiting for AP rates to come out and see if I can do better. :teeth:

My biggest fear!! I usually venture there when all the kiddies are in school....oh well...it is a much needed rest....and maybe I will be a step ahead with my DIS info.

Since rack rate is $115 a night before tax for peak season, this sounds like the best you're going to do.

Thank you so much, torinsmom and lisabarr, I called and got the AAA rate, preferred room location for $94/night and I will check back about an AP or FL resident when it gets closer.
Thanks again for the AAA suggestion :goodvibes

Yup :) And I only have $200 for the weekend (already have the AP) and one of the other girls is in grad school so saving $30 is awesome to us! Thanks again for the tip. The CM I spoke to said they always have AAA rates but you have to ask for them. My family and I have been staying at Disney since 1974 and we never even thought to ask about a AAA rate - DOH! Now I'm even more excited about Girl's Weekend this year :woohoo:

that rate sounds right given the season. We have paid anywhere from $49 to $89 at Pop.....depending on the season.
