Just returned and had a great trip, this resort was excellant. Spent 7 nights and will definately use the resort again. I don't know how anyone could not like this resort!!!! Any questions I would be happy to answer.

I love Pop too-- glad to hear you had a positive experience! :teeth:

1. Was there any work going on across the lake at the legendary years? Any news about it ever opening or being demolished?

2. What section/time period did you stay in and what section would you recomend for a future trip?

3. Did you get a refillable mug? What drinks were available for the mugs?

4. How was your waits for the buses?

Thanks!

Thank Heavens I am finally hearing a positive report of POP, we arrive in 5 days and I was beginning to wonder if I made a bad mistake! Thanks again!

We just returned last night from 5 nights at POP. There was nothing going on across the lake that we could see. We did wander down there often because my 20 yo son was getting a charge out of the turtles in the lake  . We stayed in the 70's section, 2nd floor corner room, our window looked at the giant big wheel (if you went by we had the giant Lego crane in the window with Mickey hanging from it!). We liked the location, not far from the food court, Hippy Dippy pool and Pop Jets. There is also a twister game in front of the building which the kids liked. Bus waites were short for us leaving the resort but we set our times to avoid the park opening crowds in the lines.

I too, just returned from an 18 day stay at POP and had a blast, it was great, had awesome towel animals left and loved every minute of it!

My son and I love PC. :cheer2: We've stayed there twice so far during busy times. Both trips were great and the bus service was wonderful.

Were returning to WDW next April. My son thinks were staying at PC again, but I'm surprising him with POR.

I'm excited about our first moderate stay, but will really miss Pop Century.

Please tell us all about it! We are going 11/4-11/12 and have never stayed there and haven't put in a bldg request yet, just that we need connecting rooms. Give us EVERY little detail when you have a few minutes. I like the location of the 70's (not too near any big pools I think-noise) but also think you might be able to see fireworks from some of the 50's rooms? but maybe more of a walk to busses?
P.S. Did you or would you feel secure in leaving your video camera or credit cards in the safe?
Thanks! :goodvibes

1.) I stayed at Pop Labor Day week, and my room had a gorgeous view of Spaceship Earth. As well as the the Legendary Years side! :) There was no work. There's no news about it opening, or being demolished.

2.) I was in the 50s section, building 2. I wasn't thrilled with the bowling pin motif, but the location was WONDERFUL. About a 3-5 minute walk to Classic Hall, with a great pool, REALLY near the parking lot, and we could see Illuminations from outside our door. :)

3.) Yes we did. Coke products (including the frozen coke products), Tea, coffee, hot cocoa - I think ANYTHING on the beverage island. The milk was kept in the fridges I think.

4.) We only used the bus once. My wife and a friend had to wait 25-30 minutes for a bus from Epcot back to Pop. We used a rental the rest of the time.

Love seeing people from WNY on the DIS! :)

I don't understand why people prefer the All Stars. I've stayed at both, and I can honestly say that if I ever were going to pay for a value resort again, it would be POP, hand's down. Not that All Stars were horrible, but POP just blew them away. The only problem we had at POP at all was the crowded dining facility, but that was because we chose to go there during rush hours, we learned from that mistake, and never tried it at the all stars. Busses were so much better, I don't think we had to stand up at all, and never had a wait more than 15 minutes for POP.

Just a competely pleasurable experience.

Had to laugh....we were in 50's also, on the third floor. WE were the last room before you turned the corner for the 'bowling pin' stairway. Hated those bowling pins!!!! But...we loved watching parts of IllumiNations from outside our door. Our door faced the entrance gate thingie!! It was very quiet there, with lots of greenery between us and the gate shack. And then the parking lot just behind us. The only time there was any noise was when the ambulance came and had to go behind our bldg to get to the backside of bldg 3 in 50's.
Loved Pop a lot. I will stay there again in a heartbeat. The buses were fine, but we timed it so that we didn't ride them at popular times. Same with the food court...ate at off times.

Does bldg #2 have room #'s starting with 2's or 3's? I don't know which one it is on the map.

Building 2 room numbers start with a 2.

The first digit is your building, the second digit is your floor, and the remaining digits are your actual room number. :)

Ok- we are leaving for POP in 3 days! :cool1: I was just going to let the "room gods" decide where to put us. Is this a bad idea? What would be the worse possible scenario???

I had no requests and was happy with where I ended up.

The only time I make a request is if I book a standard view room at a deluxe. I simply request not to have a parking lot view.

If I get one, eh. It isn't the end of the world. :)

We spend 9/23-10/01 in Pop, we were in the 50's building top floor. We were able to see the fireworks from Epcot (if we were in the room, most of the time we were at a park). The only thing that I was a little unhappy with was the vanity sink, we had no hot water! Each night I would have to run hot water from the tub to wash the make up off my face. My husbad just shaved with cold water each morning. We loved Pop and will stay there again. By the way the AC worked really good, it was too cold!

Just curious, did you notify anyone? and did they attempt to correct the problem?
