pop....bad reviews!!

We stayed at POP in 2007.
Loved it!
We are a family of four and tend to use our room as a sleeping base only, and we found the room fine for this. The Food Court is good - plenty of choice to suit everyone's needs.
We never really waited long for buses, maybe we were lucky?
We stayed in the 80's block, which is a 5+ min walk to main building and Food Court, but this did not bother us at all. Choice of pools which were manned until almost midnight.

ENJOY! and don't let other people's opinions cloud your judgement, especially before you get there!

Happy Planning

We stayed in Pop last feb and I personally Loved it. We're going again in October.

It's bright. vibrant and fun. It's well themed and mousekeeping is good. Yes occasionally the food court was crowded but thats down to the time of day we went - there were usually plenty of choice and I enjoyed the food served there.

I loved waking up the next morning, getting ready, leaving our room and seeing the cheerful atmosphere around us.

Never had a problem with the buses, one morning we were up early to go to DTD and there was just me & DF on the bus. The driver was so friendly and he gave us tips (more for my benefit because it was my first time in WDW).

sometimes I feel people can see the word 'value' and mark it down on that. It's a shame they feel that way because Pop is great. It is what it is and for us it's a place to crash after a long day in the parks.

I'm sure you'll have no end of fun at POP :goodvibes

I've stayed at the Polynesian, Beach Club and Coronado Springs and we still love Pop.

I would always stay at Pop Century over Coronado Springs. It's a great resort.

Everyone has different opinions so here is mine, we have never had a problem staying at POP and this upcoming trip in September will be our 5th time staying there. According to Birnbaum's Guide to Disney, it was a favored valued resort and the Food Court was ranked high also. I have to agree with his assessment. We love the food court, the pools, and the convenience....

I am sure you will have a wonderful time... Enjoy...

once again thank you for your positive replies :thumbsup2

i am okay with staying here now because of all your positive comments

:thumbsup2 You'll have a great time!

After reading through all the comments I wouldn't mind going back to the Pop again even though we were looking at other Disney hotel options! On our previous stays we have had such a good time and i'm beginning to lean towards the 'stick with what you know' motto!! :goodvibes

We stayed at pop for 10 nights in 2009 (70's building, overlooking the lake),
and the only bad thing I can find to say about it that the bus stops need some shade from the sun.

Other than that you can't beat it, price vs quality wise! :thumbsup2

We stayed at Pop twice last year (once for one night, then 10 nights) - it was our first time in a value resort and I loved it there! We had renovated rooms both times, and they were lovely. We never had a problem waiting for buses, even over New Year! The food court is great - so many different options. The pools are lovely too and were never busy. :)

For perspective, do a search on Movies - I'm sure you'll find some bad reviews for there too, probably even some about the CM's and the Buses :rotfl:

People are way more likely to post about bad things than good, it's the nature of the beast, but just remember, especially with the size of the Disney resorts that have literally thousands of rooms....if there are only a handful of complaints when there are that many people staying there, then overall you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

Enjoy Pop!
