Poor dh

We had lunch with dh's best friend and his wife today. They told us they had something important to tell us. We assumed it was that they were pregnant again. Well they just informed us that he has a been offered a real great job and that they are moving clear across country. We both just sat there with our mouths hanging open. They are moving in a month. They put their house up for sale this morning.

They have known each other for 25 years. Dh was his best man and he was ours. We are their kids guardians if (God forbid) anything happens. I feel so bad for dh right now. I know this is killing him inside, because he doesn't want to talk about it. Even though we are both really happy for them for the opportunity they've been given, it's going to be strange not to see them all the time.

{{{HUGS}}} to your dh. My dh is missing his friends back home. In fact he is there now. Getting in some great friends and family time. We just went on vacation with them.
Thank goodness for email and cell phones.

Keep his spirits up and time to plan a vacation to see them!!!

We moved clear across the country from our friends, and we have all survived (so far!) It's been four years already. We flew back there for my DD's baptism, since that's where our church and everyone was. And they are coming here (two different families overlapping for a week all in my house!) at the end of this month.

We see them less, but we are still great friends. It was hard at first - real hard - but life has gone on.

I feel for you and your husband. At least in this day and age, when we have e-mail, it's easier to keep in touch than it used to be.
