We're on our way to ASMu on 7/29. We left a few days open and thought we might resort hop and check them all out.
I know we are not allowed to go in them but which ones would you recommend going to see?

While I love the pools at the mods and deluxe's I have to say in July to have to be near a pool and not be able to go in would be torture. Especially if you have kids. And don't even think about going in!. I saw some poor family get kicked out of the pool at the Poly in May. I knew they weren't guests, they came in with shopping bags like maybe they had just come from the MK, had clothes on with suits underneath and kept saying "this is so much nicer than ours". Sure enough somebody ratted them out. The younger kids were crying, the teenager looked like she wanted to crawl under a rock and die and the mom and dad were each yelling at the other: "I told you this was a bad idea". I was mortified for them!

In any case, it would be nice to check them out, you could maybe combine that with dining at a particular resort. But frankly I'd rather spend that time at a water park or park or just enjoying All Star Music which is a great resort.

My favorites are CSR, POR, SSR and Stormalong Bay at the Beach Club. Stormalong is locked, you have to have a resort key to even enter that one. But you can see it from the outside near Beaches and Cream (which is great to eat at).

Have a fun trip!

I was about to tell you to put your flame proof suit on :scared1: until I kept reading!!! :rotfl:

I think the AKL pool looks awesome (from the pictures, anyway). I will get to find out in April!! Woo Hoo!!!

Yeah, one time we ate at the Poly, and we walked around the resort a little bit. Seeing my kids staring at the Volcano Pool, wanting to jump in and have fun was sort of painful! If your kids love slides, go to the waterparks. They are just awesome, my kids love them as much if not a tad more than the regular parks. They have something for kids of all ages at the waterparks.

All Star Music is great. My kids adore that resort. When we stayed there in Apirl, they had acitivites for the kids at the pool each afternoon, and at night they had a big screen where they showed various Disney movies. It was a pilot program some of the resorts were doing. Not sure if they still are or not. Check out the All Star Music FAQ thread to see if anyone who has stayed there recently can tell you if they are still doing that.

Some things we have done to explore resorts: Dine of course, but also we have rented surrey bikes a few times. CSR, Boardwalk, Port Orleans Riverside, Saratoga Springs, Caribbean Beach, Old Key West, Ft. Wildnerness and Wildnerness Lodge all have bike and surrey bike rentals. Its a fun way to see the resort and our kids love doing that. It also very cheap. Lots of the resorts have boat rentals as well, but that costs more.

Have a great trip!

I would recommend the Wilderness Lodge pool--simply because when we were there in May there was a whole family of duck--momma duck and little babies swimming in there amongst the people. (Sadly enough, there were some hoodlum children trying to chase and catch them, but luckily the lifeguard was standing close watch over them shooing the kids away!:thumbsup2 )

I also think the pool at POR is cool and the Poly pool and the Beach Club pool.
