Pool ?

Not sure if you can tell from the picture but there is also quite a drop to the water level in the goofy pool.

Someone above mentioned 4 feet...is that gradual or all over?
If that's the deepest it gets, my petite DD11 will be able to "stand in her little spot" with the rest of 'em...especially on the day at sea!
She knows that immediately after boarding will be her best chance for the pools, so she's already planning on having her swimsuit under her clothes!

we avoided the mickey pool like the plague, way too many people there all the time, plus it's where they have all of the parties and celebrations. most of the semi older kids were in the goofy pool the whole time. i don't remember the goofy pool ever being too crowded though.

Its four feet deep all over. And if you get waves, they will close the pool. Rough seas have the water spashing all over the place.

If your kids are looking for a swim vacation, cruising probably isn't a good choice. The pools are small. The Mickey slide is really for younger kids, the Goofy pool nothing more than a smallish rectangle filled with water (and kids!). My neighbor's back yard pool is bigger. The best water activities to be had on a cruise vacations are the beaches, but that leaves sea days, and in the afternoon, if the pool is open and the weather nice, that can leave for a very crowded pool. Also, relatively young kids are allowed to roam unsupervised, and end up at the pool, which is lifeguardless. You might be happier with an all-inclusive on the Mayan Rivereria or the Carribean.

(Its the Goofy Pool that they cover for parties and celebrations.)

All the deck parties, character "events", game shows, ice carving, etc. all take place at the Goofy Pool area, not the Mickey pool area. Some adult activities (not what you are thinking!!) take place at the adult pool...

Nope, we are very happy with our choice in a cruise vacation. I am just looking for information on the pools so we know what to expect. If the girls know the situation ahead of time we can avoid any potential dissapointment.

That's wise .... managing expectations. Step two, should you choose to accept the assignment: pool management. We never found the pools crowded early in the morning or while in port. Other people have reported empty pools at mealtimes. Some people have reported choosing late seating because the pools empty out - they skip the shows (or go to the matinees where offered) in exchange for less busy pool time.

oops. it's been so long sice i've been on i forget what the ship even looks like, but we still avoided the mickey pool, regardless of the celebrations being at the goofy pool. i can't even say i know what the mickey pool looks like. i think i'm getting the cruise we went on to alaska this past summer confused with the disney cruise. oh well. sorry about that. apparently you all know better than i do. :)
