Although we got a cheap condo for our 7 night trip in October I'm thinking of doing 1 night at a Universal Hotel...

My questions:

Pools Heated?

What hours are the pools open?

Which hotel has the best swimming?

SInce parks close a little earlier in October I was thinking of making this descion based on pool hours -- crazy but true.

I've never stayed at Portofino but have stayed at both the HRH and RPR and neither pool is really good for swimming per say. The deepest they go is 4 ft (I think) very shallow but very good for just hanging with the kids and I've got to say we had a blast at both pools. HRH has a pool slide (RPR does not have a slide), I think it may be 4 1/2 ft at the deepest end. They are both very large pools so even when there are a lot of people it still never seemed "crowded". I am going to try PBR this year (the pool that is), someone who has stayed there will probably chime in a response for you. HTH :thumbsup2

I forgot about the hours question. We stayed both times in the late summer, August, and the parks were closing early and we were at the pool still by 10:30, we left and there were people still there so I think its like midnight, never really looked at the schedule though. Sorry I'm being so vague, maybe some who is more focused can give you a better answer, just didn't want to leave you without any answer at all. HTH :thumbsup2

I think we'll go with HRH.

We are only staying 1 night so I really just needed re assurance that I am getting the best place for us.
