Pool use in Jan? Pop or Moderate

We are bringing our nephews to WDW next year and will be staying a week at either POP or a moderate we stayed at caribbean beach. How many people use the pools or water parks in Jan? Price difference is about $350

If by January of "next year" you mean January 2008, the main pool at CBR will be closed for renovations. So you probably should consider another Moderate. My kids loved the pool at CSR. But whether your nephews can use any WDW pool in January depends on the weather. Sometimes it is warm enough in January, sometimes it isn't.

Went the last three Januarys. 2005 and 2007 weather was great and we swam every day. 2006 we could only swim one day. 2002 not a chance of swimming actually wore winter coats half the time (record cold weather) so you just never know. I personally wouldn't book a hotel based on swimming that time of year. CBR I really wouldn't book if you mean this year because I wouldn't spend that if the main pool is closed. I think what I would do is to save the money and stay at POP (which I love) and then if you get a good warm day, spend the money and take them to the water park a few hours. I think overall that fun & memory will be better than just swimming in the hotel pool. You'll still save money.

I believe it partly depends on you! If you are from way up north than swimming when it is 60-70 degrees will be a welcome thing in jan. If you are more centrally located then I would not count on swimming much or using the water parks. However, I would not discount the wp&m option completely if you plan on doing disney quest or pleasure island as admission into these is included with that option. Quest alone for two adults and two kids is somewhere in the $150 neighborhood.
