In the past we have always brought along some water toys, like diving sticks and soft balls (baseball, football) that are made for the pool. We have never had an issue using them. Last year, at Universal, we were forbidden from using them, only able to have their beach balls in the pool. What a disappointment. What are the rules at Disney?

As long as you are not infringing on the rights of the other guests at the pool, you should be able to use them. Unless you are at a pool with a life guard and they tell you No.

I know kids cant use a snorkel mask, any mask that covers the airways wont be allowed (the lifeguard at WL told us this last year when my son had a snorkel mask on in the main pool). Goggles are ok though

My kids used one of those squishy water balls for 10 days at Stormalong Bay last month....no problem.

Some kids had a very small football taken away at the Polynesian last week. The Mom came over and was not happy. I assume it was because the pool was super crowded because the boys weren't causing any problems.

Oh the bane of my existence - please explain why on earth do kids need to throw balls in a pool? I'll bet money that they never ever touch a ball on dry land but add water and oh boy! I'm totally against throwing balls in crowded pools. Mainly because I ALWAYS get hit by the darn things! And heaven forbid you get an apology out the the little snowflakes... and Dad because of course he's the one throwing too!

I bring water noodles to pofq and have never had an issue. On the last day I give them to an arriving family.

I hate when people throw the diving sticks in the pool, please do not do that! It's super disturbing to others in the pool and when kids are jumping in and diving for things under the water it is sometimes hard to see them when I'm walking through the water or just swimming and floating around and the kids swim under me. I had one kid doing that at SAB and he was so involved in finding the diving stick he rammed into my back and nearly knocked me over with the force of it. Of course not all kids are going to be rough with pool toys, but I find in public pools its best to leave the toys out.

I think if you're not in the main pool, and the only ones there, then fine, play ball. If anyone else is in the pool, trust me, they do not want you tossing the ball. It is disturbing.
