Pool Temperature at Coronado Springs

We usually travel to WDW in the summer and this year we will be there in August. As a true New Englander who enjoys swimming in the ocean, I have found the Disney pools to be pretty hot and at times not even refreshing. We have never stayed at Coronado Springs before, and I was wondering if that pool is just as warm as all the others. And if they have heated pools in the winter, why can't the pools be cooled in the summer? ;)

Since Disney didn't heat all the pools last January (saving money)...I wouldn't count on them spending money to cool the pools this summer...But you are lucky, because

There is a very easy fix :thumbsup2

Buy two 5 pound bags of ice (block of ice works best). Wear a big t-shirt and put one block under the front and one behind your back. They make nice floats in the water and cool an area of 5 square yards cool enough for even a Maine Lobster to enjoy :fish:

In Florida,...its the only way to fly!

I agree. We go in August and I find this to be the situation also. We have gone to Pop Century two years in a row and if it wasn't for the flower fountains that go into the hippie dippie pool, we would not be refershed at all. The other pools do not make you cool mid-day they are so warm.

However, at nighttime, they actually are cold. So go figure.

Swim at night. For some reason the pool temps drop dramatically at night -- guess that Florida sun is pretty powerful when its out! I have even found it too cold at night and had chattering teeth. Go figure. I must have earned my Florida blood by now.

I have only been to WDW once in the summer months, June at CSR. The water was not refreshing to me, it was warmer than I like it to be.

Ugh, I better start planning on those bags of ice. ;) Thanks, everyone. :)
