Just back from CBR. DS LOVED the slide at the main pool. Which resorts have a slide similar to that one? I try to stay somewhere different each time. We are not going for about two years, but you know the only way to get over the "Disney Blues" is to start planning.

The next time we go, I was thinking of POFQ and maybe POLY (split stay). We stayed at POR once, but never made it to the main pool, so I don't know how that slide is. I just don't know if he will like the FQ slide, he will be 12 when we go back. I thought POR and FQ could share pools, right?

So, tell me what your kids like, and how is POR and POLY slides?

I personally like the POFQ and the Poly. I can't swim, but because the pool slide ends at approximately about 3' 6" pool. I know I'll be okay. I am not sure about the other resorts. My personal opinion, I like both POFQ and Poly themes. For your 12 yr old, POFQ pool may be a little babyish for him.. and this is why I love about this pool. I believe there are more 3'6" areas than 4-5 feet. I just walk along the edge. However, my children can swim, so they can go anywhere in the pool.. I also love Poly because it has the 0 depth entry! I also tried the slide there.. and I survived it! I am only 5'1 ft.

Your son might want to try CSR. I have stayed there, but I never went down the slide. The slide here is suppose to be a little longer than the other moderate resorts. So it should be fun for your son.

The pool slide at Coronado Springs is pretty good. As to Port Orleans, I like staying at the French Quarter, but I like the pool and its slide at Riverside better. Thankfully, anyone styaing at either can use both pools, as Disney considers it to be one big Port Orleans Resort in that way.

The pool and the slide is the best at BC!! I think its the nicest pool w/slide on prperty :cool1:

SSR is also a good chioce bc it has 2 main pools both with slides - which are very good.

Have fun choosing!!! pixiedust:

Ooh, thanks I will check those out!

We absolutely love the slide at the Poly. It goes through the volcano and is very fast. Sometimes there is a red light on inside the volcano (to make it feel like you are sliding down a lava floe), but sometimes the light is off and it is really black in there, which makes it feel even faster.

We thought the slides at AKL and WL were pretty lame, compared to the Poly. CSR has a pretty cool and pretty long slide, but definitely tamer than the Poly's. We have yet to try YC/BC slide, but the pool at YC/BC, Storm Along Bay, is widely acclaimed as the absolute best pool on WDW property. I'm not sure the slide itself is better than the one at the Poly, though. I don't really like that you have to walk outside the pool area and across a public walkway to reach to reach the slide entrance at SAB. Boardwalk and Contemporary slides both look pretty cool (long, at least).

Thanks for the description of the POLY pool, it has always been my first choice if we get to do a deluxe.

My children love the Poly Volcano slide and have been on it many times. They come flying out of it so fast. They also liked the POR and POFQ slides as well (although not as much as the Poly). The one time we stayed at POR it was fun taking the boat to POFQ and being able to use their pool as well (legally:thumbsup2).
