My DS loves the "little" slide at SSR. He's too young to go down the big slide alone, but can he go down on my lap at any DVC resorts? (He will be almost 3 at travel, and he does wear a life jacket. He's just not big enough to do a big slide alone.)

Does anyone know? Otherwise, he won't be able to slide at all at OKW b/c they don't have a "little" slide right?:sad2:

I am not sure about OKW but we stayed at BCV in January and my son could NOT go down on my lap. Luckily they did have a small slide.

When I was at SSR at Christmas, I asked one of the lifeguards if there were any height or age restrictions on going down the 'big' slide at SSR. The answer was that there were no restrictions. The next day, I asked a different lifeguard if my 2 yr 2 month-old son (who was with me) was big enough to go on the slide or if others his age/size had used it. The response was something like "Sure... He'll love it!".

So, he had his life jacket on, my wife walked him up to the top of the slide, I waited for him at the bottom and down he came. Of course, my wife sent him down feet first in the sitting position. By the time he got to the bottom of the slide where I 'caught' him, he was head first and upside down! He had a bit of a scared look on his face so I thought we had made a huge mistake... As soon as I caught him... what did he say?? "Again!" :)

I'd guess he went down the slide about 30 times during our time there. He LOVED it, despite the fact that he got cold going up the stairs and waiting.

So, in my opinion, if your child is... adventurous, let him go down the slide!

I'd say the memory of my son's first SSR 'big slide' experience is something I'll remember fondly till the day I die.
