Our first trip to the world as DVC member's will be in October, 2 question's regarding the pool:

1. Can you bring your own cooler to the pool?

2. If so, is alchohol allowed, specifically glass bottles? or cans only?

TIA!

All of the main pools at the DVC resorts have a pool bar. The drinks are expensive but I guess that's the price you pay for "Mickey Brew"! :)

We make frozen "bucket" margaritas in our room and then fill our large plastic glasses and take those to the pool. Way too expensive for pool drinks at $7 each.

We always pack a soft sided cooler for our pool days. Glass bottles are not allowed on the pool decks, but cans are fine.

Honestly, I may spring for a "Pina Colava" or two, but otherwise drinks at the pool bars are a budget drainer.

we're driving down, so we have plenty of room to bring whatever we need. bringing our own alchohol will be definetly cheaper:thumbsup2

We packed large insulated cool cups (got them on a cruise and they weight little).

Bought a bottle of Sangria, a bottle of mudslide (pour over ice type) and a bottle of rum along with fruit juices to make rum punch... No, no, we were there two weeks, it's not that bad.

We also bought 3 cheap ice trays and ice tub for our freezer (worth the total $4) so we'd have plenty of ice.

We had great adult beverages by the pool every day this way at a fraction of the pool bar cost!:drinking1
