For those that have stayed at PBH, RPR and HRH I could use some help...my DD age 26 and myself are going on a Florida trip that includes starting at WDW Oct 17-22 in the Pop Century, then Universal from Oct 22-26 when we leave on a one week cruise.:woohoo:

My question, when we switch from WDW to Universal our first day is a planned down day, stay by the pool and relax day. Based solely on pools which hotel would you stay at...I stayed at HRH and although the underwater music was nice I found it a bit shallow for swimming.

All comments greatfully received.Thanks!

That's a tough call. I'd pick either Royal Pacific or Portofino. I like Portofino's slide and they have a deeper end but I also like Royal Pacific's atmosphere. I guess if I were you, I'd check out both before deciding.

Depends upon what you are looking for in a pool. If you want plenty of atmosphere with a great pool bar, try the Hard Rock. If you are seeking something subdued, definitely go for the Villa Pool at the Portofino.

Have stayed at RPR and PBH, of the two i prefer RPR pool, did not like PBH beach pool , it has a slide but there was not the same buzz about it that the RPR has. If there are just the 2 adults, i would say the PBH Villa pool is excellent and very quiet relaxing.
RPR and Beach pool at PBH are not deep, section of RPR probably goes to about 4.5 ft and the same at beach pool, but RPR`s pool is very big.

Portofino actually has three pools. The quiet pool is mainly for adults and has a deep part.

Thanks everyone! I think it will be the PBH...quiet deep pool that we can swim in sounds good...and I like the sound of quiet:cool2:

.....I did like the HRH pool for ambience but was dissapointed in how shallow it was...

Here are a few pictures of the Portofino pools

hmmmm....don't know what happened to the picture of the hillside pool but it is just your normal pool.
