I think it's a given that the BCV has the nicest pool on property. With that being said, could someone rank the other Vacation club properties. Thanks in advance.

This is how I would rank the properties (excluding HHI and VB).

#1 - Boardwalk (locatiion, location, location)
#2 - Old Key West (huge room size, theming, close to being ranked #1)
#3 - Wilderness Lodge (love the theme and proximity to MK)
#4 - Beach Club (great pool, but the villas are shoved in the back)
#5 - Saratoga (not a fan of the theme or the way it is set up)

The Unofficial Guide to WDW 2006 Edition ranks the DVC pools in the following order:
1 (and this is #1 overall for all Disney resorts) Beach Club (5 stars)
2 (#3 overall) Saratoga Springs (4 1/2 stars)
3 (#4 overall) Wilderness Lodge (4 1/2 stars)
4 (#10 overall) Boardwalk (3 1/2 stars)
5 (#15 overall) Old Key West (3 stars)

the #2 overall pool is Animal Kingdom (4 1/2 stars)

Also, I believe OKW recently added a slide? Maybe it will rank higher next year.

I personally think that Boardwalk has a really cool pool and I have no idea why it came in at number 10.

Thanks alot ......very informative.

That's easily my favorite part of a resort!!

My personal preference for onsite DVC's:

SAB (although it is slipping some in our rankings as the waterpark visits increase)
SSR (we like the zero entry, the waterfalls, the hot tubs, and the later hours)
OKW (My DS prefers this slide over the BWV slide)
BWV
VWL

This topic is probably personal preference, but here's mine:

1. Beach Club - Number 1, but not by much
2. Boardwalk - This pool is extremely underrated. I love the slide, the pool bar and the whole setup.
3. SSR - The pool and slide are very nice. I wish they would have done more with "On The Rocks" pool bar.
4. OKW - I feel the theme of the pool goes very well with the resort itself.
5. Wilderness Lodge - The pool seems very majestic to me. I do wish it was a little bigger.

Is Stormalong Bay the only pool with the sand bottom ?
Yes, it is the only one with a sand bottom.

Our personal rankings, from top to bottom of on-site DVC main pools:

1. BWV
2. BCV (SAB)
3. OKW
4. SSR
5. WL...mostly because of the crowded situation usually found there in the summer

But hey, they're all good and then there are the water parks too! :)

Although we seldom use them I would rate the "Feature Pools" this way:

1) BCV (for SAB)
2) SSR (for Zero Entry)
3) VWL
4) BWV
5) OKW

We use the "Quiet Pools" just about every day while at the resort and I rank SSR at the very top for quiet pools. The pool overlooking DTD with it's large pool deck and corner fountains is simply elegant. We love this pool and thank SSR owners for allowing us to pool hop from our home resort of OKW.

Highest on my wish list of future improvements at each of the DVC resorts would be slightly larger pools with MUCH larger pool decks and MANY more lounge chairs and tables with umbrellas. Just about everytime we enjoy any of the pools I notice couples and families with children anxiously searching for a table or loungers to settle in. Often only to walk by never to be seen again due to every chair being occupied. We own a substantial number of OKW points and I would not object to even a moderate increase in dues for the benefit we would derive from better pools and pool environments.

For that matter if it was my decision I would develop a DVC at Typhoon Lagoon...that we would enjoy.

1. BCV--SAB,we absolutly love this pool
2. BWV--the slide is a lot of fun
3. SSR--very pretty pool
4. VWL--great theming
5. OKW--the new slide fits in well with the theming

Not an SAB fan at all, find it difficult to watch kids in.

DVC Only

Zero Entry pools: SAB, SSR

Kiddie Slides: SAB, SSR

Good Pool Bars: ?, BWV seems to be a favorite, SAB (Hannah's) looks very comfy, but I haven't been there.

Easy to watch kids at: Anything EXCEPT SAB

Bigger slides: BWV, SAB

Close to Villa: Depends on what villa you get - at a place like OKW you may be in for quite a walk - although the end of the hallway at BWV isn't close either. All the Villas at VWL are tucked back from the theme pool - Villa placement there is not convienient.

Crowds: VWL seems to be more crowded - it seems to get more crashers from the campgrounds, etc and is a small pool for the resort size. SAB is big, but since a lot of people stay here specifically for the pool, the pool can get crowded. I've heard said that the SSR pool already seems underbuilt for the resort, but haven't been. I haven't been to the OKW pool either, but I'm guessing it has the edge for crowds - seems to be sized right, isn't attractive to crashers (or DVC hoppers) being somewhat out of the way.

I have to say BCV is first wiyh BWV a close second.

I would rank as follows:

1) BWV - easy to get to from anywhere in the resort, great slide, great pool bar
2) BCV - super pool, but huge and a hike from the BCVs. Gets a lot of points just because it is so unique and so much fun when you are there.
3) VWL - lovely pool, great theming, but is small
4) SSR - clean and new and fresh, but quite a hike
5) OKW - quite a hike and i find the calypso music very annoying after a while. pool itself is small, but slide is cool.

1. BCV-Stormalong Bay and the beachy shallow area for kids
2. SSR-Zero entry & nice pool area
3. OKW-That fast sandcastle slide! Tropical feel
4. BWV-Clown slide & good drinks at the bar!
5. VWL-Love it too-just seemed small for amt. of people there

It was hard to rank these because I love the pools at all of the DVC resorts!
