I imagine that using pools at other resorts isn't allowed, however if we were having dinner at another resort and our son wanted to have a quick dip what are the chances it would be allowed if we asked when there? If not, I would prepare my son that there might be a really neat pool and that we should think about staying at that resort on another trip!

Pool hopping is not allowed.Pools are for the use of guests registered at that hotel. However, if you ask , MAYBE they will let you.Don't get yuor son excited about it in case the answer is no.BTW, this is one of the most hotly contested topics on the boards , and usually ends up with a huge discussion and close threads.

Just because you show up at a hotel for a quick bite to eat, you aren't entitled to act as though you are a paying guest there. If it will be a problem for your child, I would suggest not eating at any hotel that has a nice pool.

We've had dinner in lots of Disney resorts with great pools and never asked or assumed such a thing!

I see what you mean already about hotly contested. I wasn't assuming anything or acting like I was entitled to anything. I'll try to find out how to ask for the thread to be closed to stop any untoward comments and ire!
