pool POR vs AKL

My sister is joining me on a trip in August. She prefers spending as much time by the pool as at the parks. Which has the best pool-Port Orleans Riverside or AKL?

Everyone is different but for our family the slide at POR is better and we like the way the POR pool winds around. But you cannot beat the view of the pool area at AKL with the flamingo area right behind it and AKL is a zero entry if that is important. A bonus feature at both resorts is that just a short walk away you can also use a different pool, Kidani at AKL and POFQ at POR. POR resort also offers a number of quite pools as well. Have her look at pictures of both and see if that helps with her decision. AKL is also such a unique resort and I always suggest to stay there at least once.

I love AKL and it would be my first choice, but I don't hang out by the pool so I don't really know which would be best. Thanks for the input.

If you and your sister are going (and no one else), and she likes swimming and you don't, I think POR would work well: lots of shade and loungers/chairs (not all taken at 8am!) at the main pool. (So, I sit and read while my kids swim.) Short walk to the main food court from the pool, to refill your mug (or get free tap water, or a meal). Several 'quiet' (non-themed) pools so very likely your room will be near one, and they always have a lounger available and shade (except maybe 1 of the quiet pools in the mansions section - not as much shade). There's a bar at the main pool, with a few snacks like chips. Also a hot tub is right next to it so you could sit in that if you like that.

I haven't stayed at AKL (but have toured it twice) so not sure if it also has these benefits. HTH!

Stayed at both, and would totally take AKL pool over POR any day!

AKL pool will have everything right there bar, good quick service food, fitness center, two hot tubs, animals, beautiful theme and even beautiful bathrooms. There are back rows that are quiet and covered in foliage/shade. It truly is a beautiful environment.

AKL pool is bigger, so if you guys like to hang out on an edge, theres more room for that even in the crowded part of the day, whereas the shape and size of the POR pool, you still can, but just not as much space, cause on part of it there is like water streaming out at you.
Definetly less space.
Bar at both. Close to food either way, but a little more closer to AKL.
I love POR and we are going back, but I love AKL too. For you and your sister relaxing, Id choose AKL.
Pretty much all the same benefits at AKL, but bigger and roomier, the whole section. Plus more sun and still has shade spots if that's what you want.
