Pool Hopping question

Hi! Sorry if this has already been answered, I went back a few pages and couldn't find anything.
My parents recently bought into DVC by resale, and are planning on taking us adult kids on a trip soon. Would we be able to pool hop since they bought resale? And if so, would one of them have to be with us (since its their names on the contract)? We'll be staying at BWV on points.

Yes, you can pool hop, but yes, the member has to be there. People renting points cannot pool hop.

You won't be able to pool hop to Beach Club/Yacht Club, in either case.

Pool hopping is not permitted at, AK, either Jambo or , BLT, Poly, or as posted above BC/YC

So even if we're all staying in the same room on their points we'd have to make sure one of my parents is at the pool with us too? We wouldn't have the member number on our MagicBands?
Well, that complicates things a little (not much though, I'm sure I can convince my mom to do a pool day ).

I was thinking the Coronado and maybe one other. Coronado mainly because I wanted to take my husband there for lunch one day and spend the afternoon at the pool xD. It was just a cool idea for a non park day where we could still explore something new beyond our resort.

Magic Bands are not ID and cannot be used in place of a DVC Member Card. They are too easily passed around. As well, just staying on points does not confer DVC member privileges. Those who rent points do not get any member privs, just a room. Disney is not in the business of figuring out who is on rented points, and who is a member's most beloved nephew/cousin-three-times-removed/current affair partner.

How do you even pool hop these days?? the last few times we've been on property all of the pool areas are being gated to prevent outsiders from even swimming? Do you just check-in at the front desk and show your ID with picture? Or does your MB open their pool as well?? I'm just curious how you even pool hop? This may sound silly but we don't swim much in the pools when we're there as I like to joke with my family that we have pools here in Ohio they can swim in... Let's go to the Parks!! lol
