No. Storm-Along-Bay and the Animal Kingdom Lodge pools are off limits to pool hopping. Owning at a resort does not give you a right to use the facilities if you are not a guest at the resort.
It doesn't seem at all harsh to me. You aren't using points to saty at that resort. You are using points at a different resort and have the privileges of any other guest at that property. Stormalong Bay is for guests staying at YC/BC/BCV, not guests who own at BCV.
Can you use Kidani's pool if you are checked in at Jambo, and vice versa (as a DVC member using points)? How about if you paid cash? Just curious. Thanks!

According to information I was given by a DVC sales executive, both pools at AKV will be open to all registered guests at either building. That includes both cash guests and DVC members.

In addition, you cannot pool hop to the non restrictive resorts (say BWV) unless you are staying on points at another DVC resort. If you are staying on a cash ressie (say at the Floridian), you cannot pool hop at all.
It certainly does NOT. You can use the pool when you use your points to stay there. If you use your points elsewhere, then someone with points at another resort gets to use your room....and THEY get to use the pool.
No, it would be no different than owning and living in the area. Many resorts allow day use, DVC does not. Also, if staying on points at non DVC resorts, you are not entitled to PH.
