We're staying at the PP for a portion of our upcoming trip. We had wanted to stay at the DLH because of the pool, but it was booked. Can you pool hop to the DLH's pool if you're staying on Disney property? You used to be able to do this in WDW.

No there is no pool hopping.

BTW, to me the best water slide is at Paradise Pier.

Absolutely! Yes if you stay at PPH or DLH, you can use either pool. We just did it! You use your room key to get into either complex. Have fun!

We were not able to do it in Oct. With the exception of our last day. The pool at PP was having work done and was closed. We even tried to use our room key (mid trip- not last day) to get in to the DLH pool so we could look around- it didn't work for us.

From past discussions on this, I have read that there is no pool hopping for DLR properties unless your hotel's pool is not open (under going renovation or closed for a specific reason). Do not stay at one hotel expecting to use another's pool, you may be disappointed.

The policy is no pool hopping...that doesn't mean it doesn't happen. I have even heard of regular locals getting into the pools when someone else comes out and using the facility. Still, the policy is no and should be followed due to capacity issues.

Hmmmm...I didn't know there was a slide at PP. Isn't this a roof top pool also? The kids are going to get a kick out of that!

It is roof top, but you wouldnt really think that when you are there. Its between a couple buildings, and has a fence around it. I think its on the 3rd or 4th floor, not the top of the 14 story building.

The waterside is a rollercoaster themed, and does not go into the pool. Our only complaint was the limited hours that you can use the slide.

The pool was re-themed a little while back. It used to be just a cement area with a simple pool. It is much better now.

If you have ever seen the water slide at Boardwalk in WDW, its similar to that. Although no clown face to come out of at the end! It is a very nice slide. They also have a kiddie pool I believe. While not as themed as the Neverland Pool at the DLH its a nice pool area I think your kids will enjoy. I also think that maybe you can see some of the fireworks from this pool area, somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

It says right on the website that anyone staying at the PPH or DLH can use both hotels amendities/services. We just got back from the PPH. The front desk told us that we could use both pools if we chose.

The fireworks can be seen from the pool area - there's a sitting area to the right of the pool and hottub. The music for the fireworks is pumped into the pool area. Awesome! :thumbsup2

This is what I found. I didn't find anything pool specific. I'm not sure if hotel services cover pools. I thought that was considered more of an ammenity. In the FAQ section, it says:

Can I use the services of the other Hotels, although I am not staying at that specific Hotel?

If you are a Disneyland® Hotel or Disney's Paradise Pier® Hotel Guest, you may use any of the services at either Resort Hotel. You may also use the massage services and Pinocchio's Workshop (children's activities center) at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel® for an additional fee (advanced reservations required). Disney's Grand Californian Hotel® services are for the exclusive use for Disney's Grand Californian Hotel® Guests only.

The pool hopping procedure was once explained to me as this:
If you were staying at GCH, you could use any DLR pool;
If you were staying at the DLH, you could use that pool (obviously) or PP's.
If you were staying at PP, you could only use that pool.

This all sort of makes sense because as you pay a higher price for a room they would seem to be offereing additional amentities. This is what I was told by two different cm's one of our trips when we were staying at PP but wanted to go to DLH's pool and have lunch and swim there. This was in September of 2004. I think like all Disney park rules and procedures you can get 100 different answers if you ask 100 different people! I think the best bet is to ask when you check in, and then maybe send somebody over to the DLH pool, try out the room key and see if it works. But I would do that before I would trek the whole family over in swimwear to maybe feel disappointed or embarrassed about not getting in!

The kids - especially my youngest - were thrilled when I told them about the roof top pool and slide. I checked around and Expedia has virtual tours and lots of pictures of the three Disney hotels. They had nice slide pictures.
