We are heading to Disney for a week in June. We are staying at the Beachclub and are not going to the park two of the seven days. I thought that I would try and book a room for an overnight at Vero Beach and have a beach day there. They were booked so that didn't work out. So, it occured to me to ask if we could pool hop over to Vero Beach. I thought the question was so stupid and I was about embarrassed to ask, but she said I needed to call Vero the day we wanted to go there and see if they would allow it. Well, I am a planner and that is just not going to fly w/ me. I called just as soon as we hung up the phone and the lady at Vero said it was absolutely allowable during the dates we will be at Disney we would just need to show our Beachclub room keys. How awesome! We will get up early, drive over there, hang out until about 4 and head back to Disney! I'm psyched, and I'm saving points. Who would have known, not me. Yea, can't wait and we love Vero Beach!

They'll need to provide you something at the front desk that will allow you access to the pool area. You need to swipe a Vero Beach room card to open the gate both in and out. They also used to ask to see the room key at the snack bar and to get towels.

Technically VB doesn't participate in Pool Hopping but they may allow it if you call and explain what you want.

In the past, people have been told "no" and reported that here. So, I'm surprised that you were told yes, and I hope it works out for you.

Since Vero Beach is not part of the Pool Hopping perk, I would be very surprised at this. I would call MS again and take down the name of the person saying it is allowed. It is a long ride to get there only to find out that it was all for naught...

The current (May through July) Portable Perks for both VB and WDW states that VB is part of Pool Hopping. The normal wording, including a statement that you may be asked to leave if the pool reaches capacity, are there. Note, no pool hopping is allowed June 28 - July 4.

Yes, call and bring your Portable Perks. This is great for those that want to see what VB is like.

It's about one and a half-two hours.

Personally, it would absolutely not be worth it to me (as much as I love Vero). The pool is small and just not that great in and of itself - definately not worth a three-four hours in the car and gas $$$$.

When I am at the beach, I really need a hotel room to change, shower, take an A/C break.

As much as I liked VB last week (first visit) when DH and I were there, I have to agree with Starbox.......not worth it to me either. Even though there are pool showers, etc. I couldn't sit in the car for almost two hours after having been on the beach and at the pool all day w/o taking a "real" shower.......much rather spend that extra 4 hours travel time sitting and relaxing by the pool at the WDW resort I was staying.
