Pool Home Recommendation??

Have you stayed in Davenport? If so, did you like it?

I have stayed in Davenport for the past four trips. We really like it. For us being able to save hundreds of dollars is worth the extra 8-10 minutes in the car to get to the parks.

We rented twice -Windsor Hills and Formosa Gardens - got both through vrbo.org. It is "vacation rentals by owner" so of course YMMV but we've rented multiple times through owners on vrbo in various locations and have always been thrilled. For the above houses we rented near Disney we paid around 1600 for one and 2000 for one (including all fees, taxes etc) and these were huge houses with 4-5 master suites, plus kids rooms and bathrooms, private pool and hot tub, private playground, grill, toys, game rooms, etc. They both had excellent decor and top quality furnishings and linens. I wouldn't be skeptical about a $133 a night house just because of the price. I also only rent places where I can see multiple room pictures and you can tell a lot about the unit that way.
homeaway.com is another site (several homes we've rented list on both sites)

I can recommend "Dolphin Song" in Lindfields off Rt 192. It is a lovely 4 br, villa with a free standing spa. If you google Dolphin song, Lindfields you will be able to see pictures of the villas. We rented through www.orlandovillas.com they put you in contact with the owners.

FYI .... There are a ton of condos and townhouses (with their own private pools) in Windsor Hills for less than $133/night. I don't think $ 133 a night even with a management company is something to stay away from. $133 sounds high to us.

I was talking about a 6 bed home being at that price.

Just because you don't pay $250 a night for a house doesn't mean it isn't a nice home. And Florida Leisure doesn't own the market in Central Florida. We usually pay $100-$130 a night and stay much closer to WDW main gate than Davenport, Clermont or Cumbrian Lakes. We've never had a problem. I agree that Davenport is usually less expensive than Windsor Hills, Indian Ridge, or the Lindfields areas. The farther away from WDW the less expensive. When we booked our vacation this summer I noticed that the prices are lower overall. There's still a few owners that will not budge on the price but they may be the one's to worry about being in foreclosure soon OMHO.

If I was an owner in a bad economy and bookings were few and far between, I would have a sale. :confused3 So maybe you break even instead of making a profit this year. At least you don't lose your investment.

I never said they did. I just said what we paid and my fears about a rate that looked too low. The owners I would worry about going into foreclosure are the ones who price low not the other way around. I'm happy renting from where I rent as they treat us like family and I know they aren't going to go out of business because they don't deal with the cheaper end of the market.
