I am looking for a pool home to rent this summer with a free standing spa/hot tub. Does anyone have one to recommend?

I have been searching and have not found the one with all the feautures that we would like.

Location is not too important. Although I like the Windsor Hills pool complex. We plan on spending our time at Sea World, Aquatica and Busch Gardens.

Thank You!

We stay with this company justfloridavacations.com pull down the tabs to see whats avaiable in which house, we are using them again this year. :thumbsup2

Similar advice...we have used Florida Leisure several times and always had a great vacation. You can check each house in video and by picture on their web site.

We found that a lot of homes in the Davenport area are not as expensive, and the owners are willing to make a deal. We got a 6 bdrm home, in a new community, with good reviews, at 133.00 per night because I asked for them to give me the price of the low season, and throw in the tax. They are really hurting for people to stay right now, so Id go ahead and look.

Cyberrentals.com has a lot of the homes.

133.00 per night? WOW.

I'd be asking question on what corners are they cutting. I know how much our electric is down here in Sth Florida and when you add in the costs of home ownership such as HOA & property tax, I don't see how the owner can be covering their cost. I'd be worried they are skipping on the maintenance or something else that might affect my vacation.

I pay over double that but the house I stay in has a great lake view, an oversize pool deck, big screen TV and is furnished better than the normal rental. I just can't ever see my family taking a chance on a ruined vacation.

Some owners would rather have the house occupied vs empty and not getting any money. I have found some super high offers and super low lately. I must say that I don't know how some owners get any bookings with those super high prices.

Yep, we rent cars anyway, and want to be out a little further from Disney this time...So Davenport is not a HUGE bit of travel only being 15-20 mins from Disney property. The home is normally 1300.00 per week, but there are no bookings for most of the homes in July - Aug for a lot of the places, and I think they are desperate to get people in them even if it offsets their expenses only a little bit. I negotiated it to include cleaning, pool heat, baby equipment, and BBQ. Its a pool home, and has a lot of nice reviews.

I agree. It is "buyer beware" in this economy! There are many near forclosure, which would concern me with the "too good to be true" prices. If owners are renting so cheaply, then how are they going to be able to upkeep their places in the manner that each nice property deserves or even maintain or pay all the persons it takes to run a rental property--housekeeping, pool maintenance, management company, pest control, replacing items when they are tired looking or damaged, cable, HVAC maintenance, deep cleaning, etc.
Most owners are not desperate and deserve to get a decent price with fair market value for the services and amenities they offer.

The home we have, is being managed through a local management group, and they even gave me their BBB info. Everything is a gamble, and thats why we only book homes with our credit card, never cash. This way if you show up and there is no home, you can immediately file with your CC.

This management company verified that they will give us another home if there was a problem, or would refund our money. We also get our deposit back upon inspection at checkout.

So the $133 isn't even what the owner is getting? You're booking through a local management group who are taking there cut? I don;t get this. Corners are being cut somewhere. I wouldn't book this house.

Are you the owner of these homes?

nope, Just have them saved for my next trip down when I need a larger home with a pool. I think the rates on them were good last time I checked, but one of them is huge (5br/5bth) and would be a good option for a multi-family trip. Hope they help with choices.

U4ik -

Mickey's Magic was my favorites of all that we looked at it, but we decided we really wanted a free standing hot tub for the week. We are looking into purchasing one and wanted to see how much we enjoy it.

I thought this villa was reasonably priced. It did not seem too cheap. Many of the quotes I received were a little less than what was advertised on vrbo or other sites.

We have decided on a home in Windsor Hills called Everest Oasis. It is perfect and reasonably priced.

Just because you don't pay $250 a night for a house doesn't mean it isn't a nice home. And Florida Leisure doesn't own the market in Central Florida. We usually pay $100-$130 a night and stay much closer to WDW main gate than Davenport, Clermont or Cumbrian Lakes. We've never had a problem. I agree that Davenport is usually less expensive than Windsor Hills, Indian Ridge, or the Lindfields areas. The farther away from WDW the less expensive. When we booked our vacation this summer I noticed that the prices are lower overall. There's still a few owners that will not budge on the price but they may be the one's to worry about being in foreclosure soon OMHO.

If I was an owner in a bad economy and bookings were few and far between, I would have a sale. :confused3 So maybe you break even instead of making a profit this year. At least you don't lose your investment.

FYI .... There are a ton of condos and townhouses (with their own private pools) in Windsor Hills for less than $133/night. I don't think $ 133 a night even with a management company is something to stay away from. $133 sounds high to us.

Have you stayed in Davenport? If so, did you like it?
