Pool Home Advice

To all of you who stay at pool homes, can you please recommend a company that has a good reputation and you were pleased with ?? We are considering renting a home this year as opposed to staying onsite. I would appreciate your help. Thanks!!

I have always rented direct from the owners. I have found that the savings are generally 20-50% less going this route. I usually start my research on sites like:

www.orlandovillas.com
www.onlinefloridavillas.com

There are many sites. The one's mentioned above are just the one's I prefer to use.

We've used www.villadirect.com and like them. We've also used www.allstarvacationhomes.com and they were even higher quality, but also a bit higher priced.

Price is definelty going to be reflected in the price. We've stayed twice in the pool homes. We did a 3bed/2bath in Emerald Island which a 3-5 min drive to WDW. Then we did a 5bed/3bath in Hampton Lakes which is in Davenport about a 15-20 minute drive to WDW depending on traffic.

Now the house we rented in Emeral Island ran us several hundred more for a stay that was 1 night less. Also, it didn't have the upgrades the other house had. Also, the other house was about doule in size and the pool was much larger. It's all about location though- we paid more to stay closer. We actually won't do that again- because we didn't find the drive to be bad and the extra money paid for almost my whole food/dining budget for the 9 days.

www. lastminutevillas.com has some great homes.The owners on there dont have to pay commision to site owner as they do on some other sites.Which may be reflected in prices on these sites.

My biggest advice: Rent directly from the owner so you know what you are getting. The horror stories I've heard when someone rents from a booking service is not want you want to experience on vacation.

We have rented two homes at villasclosetodisney.com, one is emerald footprints (4 bedroom), the other is "the bonita" (6 bedroom), both in Emerald Island, both not the cheapest but fairly priced, both gorgeous! We love Emerald Island.
