Pool heat - yes or no?

We will be renting a pool home for 2 weeks (last week of April - 1st week of May, 2006). What is your opinion, will we need pool heat?

IMHO I would definitely get pool heat.I did not take pool heat the end of August one year because I thought being 90% outside would make the pool warm.No way.It was freezing and we only went swimming once.
That was my experience.

I would think the last week of April into May would not require pool heat.

this is an indoor pool right?

so unless you want to set the temperature for the entire place at 80 degrees - I would probably go with the heated pool.

One important point to remember is that if you pay for pool heat -and I would at this time of year - and the owner has a pool cover make sure you use it as it will ensure that the heat built up during the day will stay in overnight so making it nicer to swim in the mornings beofre the heater kicks on .

Like JANNYANS has mentioned if you want to keep it warm you must use the pool cover. Most are very easy to use . It takes a few minutes and you will appreciate the results. The pool with out the cover like anything else left in the cold will allow the heat to escape. If you pay for the heat like most rentals you want your monies worth. Use the pool cover!!!

Pool covers are a snap- well we are used to ours at home anyhow. I would get the heat. It is well worth it. If you have a few cool evenings (and it could happen) you won't have warm water w/o it.

I would say yes on the pool heat. We were there the 3rd week of June, and there had been heavy rains the week before due to a tropical depression (up to and including the day we arrived). The pool was very cool for a couple of days, and it's generally fine during that time of year.
