Just paid off our March vacation Thursday and received a letter today saying one of the pools was closed for refurb. during our stay. Hmphf! They state we may go to any other resort and swim if we want. Can't we do that anyway?

Only of you are a DVC member staying on property, otherwise pool hopping is only allowed under circumstances where your pool is closed, like this.

I'd be surprised if they meant you could go to any resort. I think the norm is you can pool hop amoung the All Stars Pools - which give you plenty to choose from.

If you can go to any pool, I highly recommend the pool at Coronado Springs! They have a cool Mayan Temple and a great slide. Also, I've heard the Beach Club is awesome (though I've never actually been there).

They mean any other All Star pool. It's really no big deal. You will have one remaining pool at the Movies and then four more between Sports and Music.

And yes, you can do that anyway but I guess I don't get what you want Disney to do? Never close a pool for maintenance when the resort is open 365 days a year? You have five more to choose from. You just don't have six.

I guess I don't need rude replies. I never get why ppl can't just answer a question w/o a snotty response.

Thank you to the nice ones.

Anyway, I cannot delete my post but the letter was for ASSports, not sure why I received the letter since we are ASMo.

Which pool is closed? Does it say? When I was there in March 12, the Fantasia pool was open but the Big Mickey was being refurbished. Is it that one or the Mighty Ducks that is closed? If it is the Mighty Ducks one we never actually used that one? Did you pay for a Preferred room? Which building are you hoping to get? We requested and got Toy Story which is part of the reason why we stuck to the main pool since it was closer.

Just saw this... I have never been to ASSports so scratch my previous response.

I would assume that since guests at one AS resort can use all of the AS pools, they sent letters to all of the AS guests. If its an ASSports pool that is closed, then you have nothing to worry about.
