I understand the pool at WL is not one of the best at WDW, but that wasn't of my major deciding factors because I don't see us spending much time there except maybe one evening or something if my DD really wants to. Anyway, I read that it has a slide, but I can't find a picture of it. Does anyone have any good pics of the pool they can post? At first it didn't really matter because my DD wouldn't jump in the pool or like to go under the water much, but she has been taking lessons and now she is a fish and is going off the diving board at the regular pool and the starting block of the olympic at the Y and everything so I think she would love to do a slide. Thanks.

The slide isnt that great i dont have any photos of it but all it really is is a slide

This is the only picture that I could dig up, it's from the balcony of our Courtyard view room:

The slide was fun for our girls when we stayed there, they were 7 & 9 then I think. What I liked was that it came into the pool in the shallower part, so the little one was comfortable without a life vest, although they are available if you need them.

Thanks. That will probably be good enough for my DD6 since it will be her first time on one. It looks like you had a pretty nice view. Did you like your location? If so, how would you describe it? I need to be a little more specific for my request. Could you also see the fireworks?

The pool at the WL is really nice. When we were there it was really warm (the way I like it!). I have 2 DSs and they loved it including the slide. It is nice to be swimming in the evening and walk over to the boat dock and watch the electric water parade.

Our location was concidered "inner courtyard". I had requested a middle to higher floor, when we arrived they had us on ground, but were able to accomodate our wishes, I can't remember the exact room number but it was one floor down from the top. One thing to be aware of is that a lot of the top floor rooms have dormer type enclsoed balconies that restrict your view a lot. We were not able to see fireworks but had a dead on view of the Electric Water Parade and the geyser eruptions. We were on the side that was above Artist's Point restaurant if that helps any. The funny thing about WL is that it went from being a resort that DH didn't want to stay in to his favorite one, he likes the theme of it better than all of the other deluxes we've stayed in (GF, Poly, CR, YC). The pool, IMO, is one of the prettiest ones on site.

The WL pool is one of the major reasons we stay at WL. Our DS is 6 also. The pool is a perfect size for him-not too big, not too small. Same with the slide. I can easily keep an eye on him without having to be his shadow at all times. ;) He LOVES the slide! I think the theming of the pool is great. We use the pool at least once a day when we are at the WL-we love it. I don't understand when people say the pool there stinks:confused3 Maybe they have older children who are looking for something more elaborate like SAB at YC/BC.

I think with younger kids that can swim or don't mind using a life preserver, WL pool and slide are wonderful.:thumbsup2 The only thing that would make it perfect would be a zero entry area...but WL does have a kiddie pool, so I guess that makes up for that.

Actually, while SAB is great to look at my girls weren't that impressed by it. The sand part is only maybe 4 feet deep and always crowded. My biigest complaint is the fact that you can't sit in one place and watch your child get on the slide then see them come off, the entrance is out of site of the exit, so to watch your kids closely takes two adults.

I think the WL pool is excellent for a 6 YO. It's nicely themed, but not so big that it's hard to keep an eye on your child. My kids were 5 and 7 when we first stayed there, and they loved the slide. It was big enough to be really fun, but not too big. Have fun!

I've never really understood the complaints against the WL pool. The biggest one seem to be that it's too small compared to the other resort pools. But people forget that WL is the smallest (room wise) resort on property! My wife and I were also scratching our heads when we went to the OMI pool at POR last month. It was basically the same size at WL's pool even thought it has to serve a whole lot more people. Yes, the slide at the WL pool isn't as long, steep, or curvy, as other pools at WDW, but there was always a line of kids of varying age ranges in line to go down it when we were there.... and they seemed to be having a great time. Out kids also really like the "creek" that flows into the WL pool and the current in the water in that area.

We LOVED the WL pool areas. We spend much more time there than we normally do during our stay. The music is great. The slide may look small, but it is FAST and you go through a dark tunnel.

The quiet pool was a very nice place to relax. We often had the whole pool to ourselves.

One extra-fun feature at the WL water slide, as noted by my daugter, is the fact that there is mist and water spritz shooting out from both sides of the slide as one goes down it into the pool.

Another thing I wanted to let you know about the WL pool is the rubber duck races that take place at 3 pm. In the lovely little rocky area that connects the lobby stream to the pool, CM and lifeguards gather the children, give them each a rubber duck, and have them "race" their ducks over the rocks into the pool below. The winner gets a small prize! Fun! :woohoo:

I think the pool is a perfect size for those with smaller kids. The slide is not too big or too small for young ones. Like another poster said the area of the pool where the creeks flows into it is a nice spot for kids and adults to feel some currents. It's in the deeper part of the pool so it's a good place to go to hang out without it being too crowded.

In this pic you can see some of the slide in the rocks to the left:

This is a pic of the end of the slide:

IMHO the only downside to the pool at the WL is that the deck around the pool is too small and it's tough to get a lounge chair sometimes.

We have stayed at the WL our last 2 trips, and our kids (DS 15, DD 9 ) love the pool ! My DD started there when she was 6 (although she looked about 4 because she was so petite !) and she loved it ! The slide starts in some rocks at the top, sort of like a cave, and the kids seem to love it !! Good luck and have fun !!:thumbsup2
