We will be staying at WL in a few days and have read a few posts that mention the pool as being crowded. Is the pool small? We've stayed at the value resorts in the summer and didn't even want to swim because the pool was packed! I was hoping it would be different at WL since it's so hot right now. I'm still really excited to be staying there but just wanted to know what to expect.

We were at WL July 19-25th - the pool is a nice size - and although there were a lot of people in it, there was plenty of room. The water was not really refreshing though - the hot days and warm nights keep the water fairly warm. It is a great resort - enjoy!!! :earsgirl:

:flower: I see you also stayed at the Contemporary - which pool did you like better?

When we went in 12/01 (value season not crazy holiday season ;) )we stayed at WL and the only time we found to go swimming was at night around 10 or 11 and it was still crowded with unsupervised kids! It's not super small but most of the kids were in the deeper end (which I think is only 5 or so feet) and they took over the hot tub (which always confuses me because when I was younger the last thing I wanted to do was sit in hot water, I would head straight for the pool! :) We did go by the pool on our way to take the boat to MK during the day and it was pretty crowded.

P.S. I also agree that the water never felt refreshing, that's the only place I've ever noticed the water kind of being warm. Of course it was Dec. maybe it was heated.

We literally just got back from WL -- flew in just a couple of hours ago! Compared to the pool at AKL, the pool at WL is quite, quite small. Also, it was PACKED from early in the morning until early evening. Later at night, it was just very busy. Dh and I spent most of our pool time at the villas pool. It's small but (usually) quieter. Also, we were always able to find chairs there -- often not the case at the main pool.
