Pool at the Fort to get busier Sept-Nov.

Just an FYI... I read elsewhere that the pool at Wilderness Lodge will be getting a major refurbishment beginning Sept. 3, 2014 and will not reopen until November 28, 2014 Guests from the WL will be allowed to use the pools at the Fort and at the Contemporary resorts. Although this is not an extremely busy time at the Fort, I am sure it might make it a bit harder to find a seat than it sometimes is now. We will be there in October so I guess we will find out!

That topic has been bubbling over on the Resorts board for several days. There's never a good time to close a pool what with new folks always arriving daily but the work needs to be done at some point. Folks over there were saying "why can't they do this in January when nobody's swimming?". It could equally be said, however, "thank goodness they didn't do this in July when everybody's swimming".

It will be interesting to see if they put a fence around the pool (one operated by the Magic Bands). The Fort will likely be getting such a fence eventually but knowing how Disney does things, the monorail and premium resorts (like WL) get new stuff first and the Fort is usually last on the list.

For those that don't remember, it was early in 2013 a child drowned at the Pop Century pool when the family was swimming after the life guards had left.

I also read that with the Polynesian pool being closed, guests there as well as those from the Wilderness lodge, will be able to use the pools at the Contemporary and Fort Wilderness.

SamRoc - the link posted indicates the Polynesian guests receive a one-day pass to Blizzard Beach. Can you confirm that they also have access to Contemporary? This will definitely be an issue for our trip in October.
