Pool at AK Closed in January?

There's a post on the resort boards that says the main pool at AKL is closed from January 3 -30th. Is there any truth to it?

I arrive the 4th, Staying at AKL for two weeks ON PURPOSE to use that zero entry pool (mobility impaired). If I have to trek to Kidani to use their pool, that will be very difficult for me. But at this late date, what can I do?

I saw a few people say they had gotten an e-mail about it.

I would call WDW and explain your situation and see if they have any suggestions.

There is bus service between Jambo and Kidani, you don't have to walk unless you choose to do so.

Keep in mind that January weather is often too cold for many to swim.

The main pool as SSR is zero entry as well, maybe you could switch your reservation if the pool is very important to you. We travel in January and the weather is very inconsistant,there will likely be warm days for swimming, but not every day. Good Luck with your planning

oh, I'm back to dithering. Some friends will be there for part of the time, and they don't want to move. It would be easier if I stayed in Jambo too. I HATE when a good plan falls apart!!!!

I got mine today as well -- a separate mailed letter from AKL.
