Pool activities

What kind of activities go on at the pool everyday. We are staying at the Hardrock, and from what I have read we can use all the pools. I was wondering if I should plan a resort pool day.

In August, they had some games in the afternoon. Hula hoop and Simon Says (both quite competitive) and this dice game that even the most uncoordinated (me!) could play. The games were very much geared towards school age and above. Actually, the overwhelming majority of kids that I saw at Hard Rock were tweens and teens so this probably has something to do with it. The prizes were pretty good - smoothies for kids and a free beer for adults. DS15 and I each won one.

At night, there were movies playing by the pool. Unfortunately, they didn't have any we were interested in while we were there except Men in Black which they ended up changing last minute. (Too bad they had Harry Potter movies the week before our trip!)

There is also a ping-pong table by the pool that you can use.

We were at the RPR last week and spent an afternoon at the pool. My DD (8) is very into the pool activities and read the schedule and bugged us to be there by noon! They were on the hour every hour from noon-6. The woman who ran them was super nice. The activities ranged from Jenga, Hula Hoop contest, swim across the pool race, biggest splash, and Ladder Ball. We left before ladder ball so I'm not sure what that was. My DD won the Jenga and Hula Hoop and she got a smoothie both times. She was super excited!
