I have pretty much settled for the idea of just wearing a Tee shirt and Shorts for MNSSHP because I can't find a costume to fit my Pooh sized bottom! :rotfl2: I don't sew, so that shoots THAT idea all to heck. Anyway, does anyone have any hot weather ideas on what to do about a costume? everything I've been able to find is long and heavy. Thank you! Helen

With the Stitch thing going strong at the parks, why not a Hawaiian theme? Wear a fun hawaiian print, a lei, some flowers in your hair, maybe get a eukelele . . . . :confused3 it would be fitting but not sweltering!

One year for halloween my family and I went as dalmation dogs. I know you said you don't sew and neither do I. However, I did get black felt and cut out circles and put a stitch or 2 to hold it on a white sweatsuit. I think now they even have specific glue so you don't have to sew. Check with your local fabric store on that.

I went as the dancing hippo from Fantasia. I wore thin grey sweats, sewed on a yellow tulle skirt and yellow ribbon "laces" up the calves of the sweats, and made a headband with hippo ears on it. I carried a stuffed alligator with a red cap and hat. It was easy and fun - but very few people 'got' it.

On the puppy costume - Mom wore that one, we just used a black marksalot on white fabric to make the spots. If you go that route, make the spots very, very big - we ended up going crazy drawing tons of little spots in (although I did hide a bunch of pictures in there - Mickey ears, Donald Hat, Minnie's hair bow, etc.)

A friend of mine dressed as a wad of bubble gum stuck to the bottom of a sneaker - she dressed in pink and had a sneaker attached to the front of her shirt.

You could always go with some kind of an animal (cat, dog, bunny, skunk) by simply dressing in all black or brown and then wearing the appropriate ears and tail (if you want to be a skunk, you can run a white stripe down your back and carry perfume to squirt.)

You could always put together your wackiest mismatched tourist ensemble together.

You should be able to get hospital scrubs in almost any size and could use that for a doctor or nurse costume. pirate:

Super quick, lightweight costume: get a white t-shirt and paint an oval yellow "yolk" in the center. Wear a pair of devil horns and carry a plastic pitchfork and you're a "deviled egg"!!

With pirates being so popular this year I would think you could put on some black pants (or even shorts) a white shirt and then dress it up with jewelry, scarves etc. If you really wanted to get into it you could get some of that teeth blackening makeup, a sword, eye-patch etc. I was thinking about doing this. I know there will be lots of pirates this year, but it seems like it would be comfy and cool and everyone will "get it."
I've also just dressed in comfy black clothes while wearing a witch's hat. Or you could be part of Woody's Round Up Gang and just wear some denim, plaid, and a cowboy hat...though if you were in Missouri, where I grew up, you would just look local. ;)
I hope you find a fun idea you like! :wizard:

Last year I went to a costume shop and found a great television (giant hat that came down and sat on my shoulders). Your face is basically looking out of the "screen. It was very lightweight and comfortable to wear, and the rest of me was dressed in black, since the TV (complete with antenna) was black and silver. It's one of those costumes that could be used by anyone in your family - I think DS is going to wear it this year.

Cheers,

How about the fairy God Mother?
or, for some sexiness, Ursula the Sea Witch
or the Queen of Hearts
Baloo
Eeyore
one of the Country Bears
(There are lots of Pooh size Disney characters!)

You can also go as a non-pooh size character - there's nothing wrong with a busty Cinderella, Belle, Aurora, Lilo, Mulan.... who's your favorite character?

Ive been Ursula and its not that hot. Take one long floor length skirt or if you can sew like me make one long black skirt. Cut it into 8 tenticles and sew purple fabric underneath and stuff, add suction cups for added effect of making the tenticles look like tenticles. We also ended up using wire coat hangers in the tenticles to make them stay in place. 1 Black bustier or tube top. I got some purple shimmer makeup from MAC called "Pigment" its basically loose powder that comes in 100000000 colours, I put that all over my face, arms and shoulders, took all my hair and teased it up like her's sprayed it with white hair paint that you can get at halloween, did the make up. It was perfect. The hair and the makeup took a while but the skirt and top I was cool as a cucumber. If I ever make it to MNSSHP I might bring it with me.

Great ideas everyone! :thumbsup2 I'm just a bit self conciouse (sp?) about my tummy so I like to try and hide it. And by the way, Who wants a hot Pooh? :rotfl2: Helen
