Pooh Size and Sci-Fi

Okay, I decided to just break down and ask the question instead of worrying about this...........

I thought my family would enjoy going to Sci-Fi. They have seen pictures of people sitting in the cars and think this is way cool! Problem is Mom (me) is pooh sized (26/28) and I had read somewhere that the fit in the cars is tight. Does anyone have any experience with this and can advise me? I have squeezed in a few tight booths in my day with my biggest problem area neatly tucked under the table (gross, I know but this is my reality).

I know they have tables there but I think the novelty is being able to sit in the cars to eat and watch the clips so I don't think the kids will enjoy having to sit at a table instead of a car .

I'm getting ready to make our PS's and will make alternate arrangements if necessary. This is the last pooh size issue that I am stressing about so I sure could use some help.

Thanks in advance!
Sharon

I am a pooh size person 22/24 and I don't ever remember having any problems with the cars at sci-fi. To be honest, I had never worried about it, so I guess I wasn't paying much attention. But if for some reason there is a problem, I think they could pull up a chair for you at one of the cars, so your family could still eat in a car. I love the sci-fi for its atmosphere and will be making ps for our next trip as soon as that 90 days rolls around. Have fun!!:D

We recently ate at Sci Fi and we were seated at a cat that had three chairs running down each side, rather than three booths. It worked great for my family of all adults because we could share food and have some conversation while still haveing a great view of the movie screen. If you're nervous about a tight fit this might be a good option for you!

I am about the same size as you and I had a bit of trouble with the cars. I have eaten at other places where the booths were tighter, though. We didn't like anything about Sci Fi, so that may be coloring my memory. It is one of the few places we don't plan to return.

Thank you all for your replies. I feel more at ease knowing that pulling a chair up is an option (fingers crossed, we won't need it!)

I've heard mixed reviews on the food so we are going to keep this visit to a snack/dessert trip. This way we can enjoy the fun without paying a lot for a full meal that could be questionable.

Thanks Again!
Sharon

I'm sure you'll enjoy a snack there, but I agree totally with you CoolDisneyCat it was over-priced and I really don't get the hype at all.
I do also think that if you fancy eating somewhere in particular, then go for it, despite some possibly negative reviews.
Obviously lot's of folk love it there, it just wasn't for us.

Happy eating

Along with the cars w/ chairs, there are round tables in the back that look like outdoor picnic tables which would certainly fit the pooh-sized.

I used to be pooh sized, and the Sci-Fi was tight for me. I squeezed in, but it wasn't really comfortable. Truthfully, that is the only place I remember being uncomfortable at WDW - no problems with rides or anything else, just the Sci-Fi. But I enjoyed it anyway!
