Anyone know what the rate is to rent our own pontoon, and whether or not we can bring our own drinks and food?

Only during daylight hours. So if you were thinking of doing this in lieu of booking an Illuminations cruise, you wouldn't be able to do that.

So, yes, you can rent a pontoon and bring your own beverages on board.

If you rent these from one of the "lake resorts", can you take them between Bay Lake and 7 Seas Lagoon or are you restricted to whichever lake you rent it on?

Yes you can take the boat from one lake to the other. We've rented a boat at VWL and cruised over to 7 Seas Lagoon and back.

I did call about it today. It's first come first serve, and we aren't allowed to bring our own food or beverages! This is what MS told me....

Call 1-407-WDW-PLAY. They are the ones who actually rent out the boats. I know you are not allowed to bring your own beverages and food on the Illuminations and Wishes cruises.
