Can you get pomme frites anywhere besides Cafe Orleans? I really want to try these but the rest of the menu there doesn't look that great to me. It looks okay but I'm not sure I want to spend money on food that just sounds okay to me. Or do any of you go there just to get the pommes frites and nothing else? How do I try these tasty sounding treats? :confused3

They have the Monte Cristo there (if you haven't tried that)
and also the Mickey-shaped beignets! :)

To answer your question, I haven't seen or heard the pomme frittes being sold anywhere else...

Pomme frites! They are yummy!!! I don't think they are sold anywhere else though. DH and I shared a basket of them for a snack. The portion was quite good sized. Don't miss them.

Yeah, the monte cristo and the beignets sound good but I'm not sure I want to get all fried food. I haven't tried the monte cristo at DL but DH had it at the BB and loved it. Just not sure about fried sandwhich plus fried potatoes. And I guess I would feel silly just ordering the pomme frites and nothing else.

So you guys just went to the restaurant to eat those and didn't order anything else? I know they would let me do this but i didn't know if once we got there we would feel like we had to order more.

We had drinks too. Then had Beignets for dessert. That was a fried food heavy meal. We ate pretty healthy the rest of the trip but ya gotta splurge every once in awhile. The wait staff didn't bat an eye when we ordered them with nothing else. I'm sure they don't care as long as you tip, right?

I just realized that the Monte Cristo, Pomme Frites, and Beignets are all fried (which is what we planned on ordering at Cafe Orleans for our next trip hah) :scared:

Pair the pomme frittes with the caesar salad for a delicious meal and the calories are magically erased:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Those are the best. I would definitely go, even if it means only ordering one thing and looking like a fool. Like someone else says, as long as you tip well, they won't mind! I have to figure out a way to go on this trip. I went w/ my mom the last time, and my husband probably wouldn't like anything on their menu. Maybe my oldest son and I can sneak off for a quick lunch one day!

i was looking on all ears and these sound GOOD!!!!!!!! we are so going there next time!!! is it a kid friendly resturant... i mean like fancy feel bad 4 disutrbing people kinda thing????

They truly are so very, very good...and I am not a french fry kind of girl, but gobbled these up!;)
DD & I each ordered an appy (salad for me, soup for her) and one entree to split and a side of the pomme frittes. We had plenty of food and it was all D-E-L-I-S-H !!!:cutie:

I personally did feel a bit odd just ordering the pommes frites with the pirate punch, however, the establishment leaves you but no choice to make a p.s. so you can order this appetizer. I walked up to the podium, spoke with the CM that was taking p.s.'s, and told him that I would feel a bit dumb just ordering that, however, I really wanted to do so, so he took my name, and in less than five minutes I was seated, that particular day was hot, for me anyway, so I opted to sit inside, oh so nicely air conditioned, and I commenced to order this appetizer, I did look at the menu, but I really did not have a taste for anything else on it, at that time, I just simply wanted the pommes frites, and my pirate punch. The waitress did not mind in the least, regarding the small order, matter of fact, she was awfully nice, polite, and friendly, I cannot quite remember her name right now, I hope that I can remember it. Anyway, the pommes frites are simply delish! it is served with a wonderful, and a most wonderful at that, to my taste buds, remoulade, the serving of the pommes frites is large, which was terrific, for I so wanted to take left overs to my room later in the evening, to have them as a p.m. nosh. The waitress asked me if I would like another serving of the remoulade, which I quickly replied, yes, please! :)

Café Orleans is family oriented, so therefore, do not hesitate to bring them along.

I've gone and only ordered pomme frittes and Mickey shaped beignets.

Two words: Tasty goodness

Lunch of Champions :thumbsup2
